Convince me that Hard Corps is better than this game, Zig Forums.

You can't.

One tiny little sound chip in the genesis blows you and your toddler console out of the water.

You mean BRAAAAAAAAAAP?

souless JUST

how can you call this game souless when pic related shows one of the coolest bosses ever and says otherwise.

6/10 cherry picking at best
Entire Hard Corps playlist is sex. Have sex.

Because it's souless, the genesis counterpart is better done in every conceivable way. I'm not sure what kind of special autism this is but not my problem your shit parents couldn't afford the better product of the time. Hard Corps is undisputedly, unequivocally and objectively the better game in every way, visuals, plot, gameplay, player choice, sound, music, everything.

you never even get to listen to like halve the OST in-game unless you go out of your way to look for them. even then, you have the two above songs playing for about 50-60% of the game depending on what route you take.

>"the genesis counterpart is better done in every conceivable way."
how so? Please elaborate because you aren't winning me over.

>"Hard Corps has a better plot"
lmao

Hard Corps is a sequel that improves upon III in basically every way. The four playable characters, the multiple routes through the game, the boss designs (some of them are kind of cheap though). The Genesis is just more well suited to this kind of game. Music could go either way, Hard Corps has more of it though. Alien Wars has those overhead levels which are kind of a staple of the series and all but they also kind of suck. At least the second overhead level sucks, the first one is alright.

Game has tons of replayability and plenty of time to listen to everything, especially if you're a new player.
Look autismo I'd love to do this but for once in my life I got to be responsible and can't shitpost too much, take your shitty watered down contra game and feel happy about it, I'm not stopping you, you're the one who came in here with arrogance Muh Contra.
Hard Corps is truly something... that will never be made again, it's truly a masterpiece and art in it's most genuine form, just look at the endings it just screams so much soul how can you even compete.
Anyway it's 5 am and if you're too stupid to have some aesthetic taste to figure out how low quality the art visuals, how the sounds are dull and nowhere near as sharp or elaborate because of the difference in the chips, how the overall aesthetic arrangements of the environments blow your dumbass autismo levels out of existence, how each area is clearly defined into an identity whereas your dogshit game is so pale by comparison, just take the burning streets as example, brown and shit in yours, bordering on cyberpunk in Hard Corps, literally everything ios better than in your shitty little game on the toddler console with lower color depth, if you can't see any of this then you have brain damage, have no taste and there's nothing to elaborate even if I had the time.

I'll admit that Hard Corps has some pretty kino points about it, especially the multiple routes you can take. Although, I honestly think Alien Wars has the better gameplay because of how all they buffed and balanced all the power ups in the game, which made the shooting so damn fun because each power up was actually viable for a variety of situations. Laser and Flame couldn't get any better than in III, plus Homing and Cluster would have to be my favorite power ups in the franchise. Sure you have four playable characters in Hard Corps, but some characters just end up being better than others because of how their personalized power ups work.

tl;dr Alien Wars plays like a game of chess while Hard Corps is more like a thumb war.

Now you're truly just shit posting.
There's only like 2 endings that are pretty good. The others are either disappointing or just batshit weird.
How does Alien Wars end? You finally take down Red Falcon after they pretty much obliterated humanity and have your sweet sweet revenge while you watch as the base explodes below you. One of Hard Corps endings is literally just killing the bad guy and stopping a nuke from hitting (like that hasn't been done to death before).

My biggest gripe with Contra III is the hard mode is too difficult thanks to the SNES smaller screen resolution and relatively large sprites. It really becomes pure memorization to avoid a lot of hits. And that second overhead level on hard mode can go straight to hell.

If you want the overhead levels to go alot faster, then you can pretty much use Cluster and Laser to absolutely rape the enemy points.

No joke, I literally beat Level 5 (second overhead level) on my first try but struggled hard with it's boss back when I first beat Alien Wars.

Plus, if you just wanna fight the secret final boss on normal mode like in the Japanese version then just download the restoration patch which also brings back the lives code and infinite continues my g (not me though because I'm a chad at Alien Wars).

But that is hands down the best game in the series.

>that one kid who calls it contra hardcore

are you talking about Hard Corps or Alien Wars?
Because the answer is obviously Alien Wars.
I always hated those fuckers

That is how you pronounce the title.

The only overhead level that really sucked was the second, as it was virtually unplayable. First wasn't bad. Honestly felt that Alien Wars just had better levels (well, 2D). Riding missiles shot from a helicopter while dodging that gigantic alien ship was more fun to me than anything else in Hard Corps. Also, bosses in general were just more iconic and interesting. The terminator boss had a nice flow to it, and Red Falcon was fucking hard as balls (its true final form). Loved fighting its multiple forms, and thought its roulette style made for a dynamic fight (well, sort of. Unless you're like me and have perfected getting the legs over and over again).

I honestly felt that, while Hard Corps was decent, it was more quantity over quality. Did not like the level design as much, and found that not too many of its characters were viable.

user, I fucking love you.

This but tenfold.

Is 3 the one with those top down levels? I mean they're not awful but certainly nowhere near good either.

Yeah, III is the one with the "infamous" top down levels but like the one that really gives trouble to people is stage 5 which is the second top down level.

Steel Factory is the shit.

Nesting in the Sands and Road Warriors are absolute bangers as well

baited for this exact reply

Hard Corps doesn't have those shitty top down stages, so it's automatically better.

Ah yes because a bunch of empty, mediocre stages are much more tolerable than two disorienting ones.

Get over it you pussy. Alien Wars has alot more memorable set pieces and much more solid level design.

Not gonna lie. These games were a tie for me except I considered the jp releases of both of them to be complete shit.

Contra 3 is fantastic and easily, easily my favorite Contra game in existence. One of the beat, and most replayed, SNES games I grew up with. Love it. And the MUSIC plays a HUGE PART as to why. The first stage, the victory, NEO Kobe Steel Factory...amazing.

And "Hard" mode was fucking hard. Got a better ending, too. Real victory.
