Are you excited?

I’ve been replaying it in advance and it’s actually aged really poorly

Can't wait to emulate it

mario 64 is great to watch and terrible to play. its like the opposite of animal crossing

I've been doing the same and I'm having a fun time. I'll willingly admit it hasn't aged perfectly and that nostalgia is on my side. But all I'd really ask for aside from the mandatory HD treatment would be to rework the camera and that's it. Anything else is a bonus.

Yeah I’m not saying I’m not having fun with it, and it’s of course still got a lot of great feelings for me. It just feels significantly worse and my replay makes me appreciate Sunshine way more

Why do we love this game so much?

yes I can't wait for another shitty remake of an old game instead of new shit better to just bait the nostalgia fags just like spongebob

Yeah? I've never felt any desire to watch SM64

Can't wait to see the seethe here when it sells 10s of millions

>B-but we can emulate it wtf
>Uhh don't you guys know we hacked the code? Stop buying it !!

People will realize this game isnt as great as it used to be

Sorry user this isn't happening.

Sunshine does need more work into it, but the thing is, you go ahead and fix what needs to be fixed and it suddenly becomes a hell of an amazing Mario title, a top tier in the saga.

What's with all the people trying to downplay this game's greatness lately?

Mad about all the conspiracy and creepypasta memes

pc version fixes most of what's aged.

Always sad when folks let the fandom rob them of legitimately worthwhile media.

There is absolutely no way they can remake this without robbing it of all soul

i cant wait to see how soulless the remake is

sure but where's 3D World though

Gonna be announced on the same Direct. Trust me on this good user.

>More Peach models to rip
Fine by me

What about Wario?

What, they're remaking SM64? Source?

Mario 64 is pretty much as perfect of a game as you can get and pretty much any changes or "improvements" they could do would just make it worse

Is new Nessie really soulless? It's cute if different.

There's a rumor going on since March, corroborated by pretty much any insider worth their salt in the industry (and not of the Twitter/Youtube variety, we're talking journalists and such that have leaked plenty in the past) that a 3D Mario collection is coming up this year, including SM64, Sunshine and Galaxy 1 (no word on 2 yet). Whether SM64 will be a remake or just an HD upres remains to be seen, albeit it's most likely the latter given it'll be part of a collection and Nintendo's not known for being so generous to begin with.

>if different
It's actually more fitting for the Mario theme

Much of what has aged badly is now fixed both in the PC port and in the emulators (camera, low resolution, frame rate).
The game is perfectly acceptable apart from that, although the level design is a bit bad and there are several parts where a single error forces you to play the entire level again (for example, if you fall off a platform on a Bowser level). However the game is extremely easy and a minimally capable and trained player will almost never fall, which does not undo the problem of level design being a little bad and meaningless in many parts.

No.
I can already play all Mario games on my PC at higher resolutions, better FPS and with save states

>and with save states
