>a fighter you always wanted joins a fighting game
>the fighter doesn’t fit or suit your type of playstyle
What’s their name, Zig Forums?
A fighter you always wanted joins a fighting game
Never, Ryu plays how i want, every time.
Baiken
Now how many people did I catch with that net?
i keep falling off the stage with sonic and end up throwing them game evertime im doing good
>Sonic's in Smash
>but he's still stuck with that shitty Brawl moveset
Lemme guys, Jab jab sure you can?
Wario
I feel this bro :(
Ridley and Banjo I guess.
Joker for me, hate the gimmick, wish I could just play a version of him without some retarded meter,
Miis. I wanted a moveset based off Wii Sports
wait, how do you want terry but he doesn't fit your style? he's literally just terry
>the fighter doesn’t fit or suit your type of playstyle
that's never been an issue for me
if i don't get the character at first, i learn
that's why the kinds of characters i use vary in function a lot that you couldn't really pinpoint me as a type user
Ridley.
I just can't with the fucker. I rooted for his inclusion for years and I wish I could enjoy myself and kick ass with him the way I do with my other favorites in Smash, but I can't.
It's like I'm playing a swordfighter with glass bones and a fat hitbox and I'm getting nothing in return other than some busted moves and, well, getting to play Ridley.
I'm glad he's in the game of course but I really don't play him as much as I used to think I would growing up.
ridley was my most wanted and he plays exactly the way I like, except for not having a pogo tail as his down air. He's got speed, meaty attacks, and a projectile which helps with keeping people away. I also play wolf and pikachu at a higher level and ridley is like a slightly worse version of them but he has a lot of the same basics. Banjo on the other hand...he doesn't play fun at all.
How come no one has said banjo yet?
I like playing Banjo, but then again I main Mario and their playstyles aren't that far off from each other
>Most wanted fighter joins the battle
>You match his playstyle perfectly
Feels good
They're very fucking far though? Mario is a rushdown combo heavy fighter while banjo is more patient and campy with set ups.
>I also play wolf and pikachu at a higher level and ridley is like a slightly worse version of them but he has a lot of the same basics
Yeah, that's the thing. Ridley works for you because you're used to playstyles like his.
My strongest mains are Wario, Bowser and K.Rool, and I've mained the first two plus Ganon and DK over years of playing Smash.
I'm not arguing Ridley is a poorly designed character, but he's really just not for me, and I can't get used to his playstyle enough to excel with him the way I'd like to.
yeah I also want doomguy in the game but I'm worried if he gets in he'll be a zoner because of all his guns which isn't my style at all. I got lucky ridley matched me so well.
okay well I play them similarly
Little Mac. I love punch out to death but little mac is such a tragedy. I had hopes for Ultimate but it looks like he flew under the radar of priorities for the smash team. Guy honestly needs a whole rework and I don't think I would mind him getting from smash at this point since it's making Mac a joke
Ditto. Without Villager, I wouldn't enjoy Ultimate at all.
How do I get better with K.Rool? I wish I could have more fun using him online but I always get thrashed.
*getting cut
well it's likely they'd take the Inkling approach, since he's from a shooter that emphasizes mobility, and make him a rushdown character with some projectiles; just heavier and more DOOM-y
Get aggressive with bair in neutral. It's hitbox is DORIAH tier and it kills about as early
I feel you user. I was so happy when Mac was announced, but deeply saddened when he only had half a moveset.
genuinely curious, how would you guys improve him? i know he's shit, but he's pretty much exactly how i envisioned him being
d:.o}(—|—-
Opposite for me.
>Want Ridley since Melee.
>Gets in but worried won't like his play style.
>Actually love it.
I've never gone off stage to gimp before but damn is it fun. I may not be the best but when you pull some slick shit off stage it's a great feeling.
I'm not a pro player by any means but here's some tips I got saved
>Avoid using Up Smash. Unless they are like directly above your head, there is nothing to gain from using it instead of literally any other move. People say Up Aerial is his worst move, but I think it's easily Usmash.
>His dash and pivot grabs have a ton of range, even compared to guys like Bowser and DK. Exploit that.
>The only throws you should be using are Up and Down, and Down Throw isn't worth it until they are up to 80%. Up is great for racking damage and landing it should be your number one priority when close to an opponent, especially at lower percents when you can follow up with Up Tilt or Up Aerial (which is as close as K.Rool gets to having combos)
>Fair is your most reliable aerial. Nair is great, but be careful in abusing it. You are not Wario.
>Up Aerial is too laggy to be consistently usable, but it has a ton of range and if you can use it properly in platforms you may catch opponents off guard with it.
>If you catch the opponent with the Succ Gun at low percents, try aiming upwards. That'll likely get you an aerial follow-up.
>USE THE SUCC GUN OFFSTAGE. It's a stupid trick that works for me a lot more often than it should. And you can usually make it back to the stage even if it doesn't work.
>Crown is great for punishing rolls.
>Your main and primary use for Counter should be to stop opponents from gimping you. On ground it's too inconsistent to be used properly and you're better off shielding or using armored attacks (they buffed his armor a lot recently).
>Likewise, Counter can work as a gimping tool. Not reliably, but you can use it to shutdown the PK kids and plenty of swordfighters, ESPECIALLY Roy and Chrom. The poor bastards don't have a chance if you set it right.
He's definitely one of the "worse" characters but I really don't think he's as bad as tier lists or the competitive scene make him out to be (plus, who cares about they have to say anymore)
I agree. Sonic is one of my favorite characters in Smash but I literally never play him because he’s so fucking boring
Honestly I thought it was so obvious it wasn’t even worth saying
Banjo. He just feels unsatisfying to play as for me, despite having a spectacularly series accurate moveset.
I think giving him the Kazooie flutter (like a mini Peach float)as a second jump would have made him more fun.
Daily reminder that smash is for pedos and not a fighting game
>a fighter you always wanted joins a fighting game
>the fighter fit your type of playstyle
>you actually btfo scrubs online
Sonic
Ok K. Rool bro, I have a VERY important question for you. What the hell do I do when I’m playing against a Sonic player and everytime I try to fly back onto the ledge he just keep dropping a spring on my head? Same for Pikachu/Picha when they spam their neutral b
Pedos breathe are too. Guess that makes you a pedo.
I never thought I'd become a Wii Fit main. This game is really weird.
>Terry
how? this is how exactly how he should play like
Fucking Mega Man.
Mac to a lesser degree.
