Why is the compendium so fucking expensive bros? Fusion is the only way to survive in this game and it's the hardest thing to do because of the horrid EXP rates and RNG demon recruitment.

It gets better my man. I remember it becoming easier right after Ikebukuro, and halfway through the game you are pretty much invincible if you build your party right.

This game is overrated as fuck. The fact that freeing Lucifer forces you to fight him has to be the most retarded decision in the series. I’m freeing him because I want to join him, while else would I grind through that shit show? What the fuck where they thinking? Did they seriously not consider that some people want to free Lucifer and serve him? When I found out I had to fight him I shut the game off and never touched it again. I spent hours trying to free him because I would get a cool cutscene or something but nope fight him because it makes total sense to spend hours upon hours freeing the most dangerous and evil monster with the intention of fighting him at the end. Seriously the only reason why I would go through that length to free somebody is because I’m on their side. Overrated game. Nothing more

Are you retarded? Lucifer spells out why he wants to fight you. It's his final test for you to prove yourself as a worthy servant. If you succeed in bloodying his nose, Lucifer praises how strong you've become, transforms you the rest of the way into a true demon, and makes you his top general in the war against Heaven.

I know this is a shit post and a spiff on the Persona 3 thread BUT you actually have a point. SMT 3 is FUCKING WEIRD and basically ditched the core aspect of the series to explore the idea of 'reasons' instead of the eternal battle of Law vs Chaos. Sure later versions tried to shoe-horn it back in with the true demon ending but it's still very very different.

SMTIV dungeon's are a lot better since they cut through stupid puzzle crap, but I didn't mind that in the Labyrinth of Amala.

desu Persona 5's dungeons run circles around SMT though.

That is the general plot of the entire game and why you were turned into a demidemon. Lucifer wanted to see if it was possible for a demon to train to become stronger and what it would take to make this happen, so he set you up on the candelabra fetch quest to watch your progress while he recorded data on you.

Most of the endings literally do not matter to Lucifer, including the Law endings. If you choose those he just takes the data he recorded on you, satisfied, and leaves for another world to make one of his own minions go through the same thing you did to make that into his new enforcer. If you choose Freedom he praises you for doing what he did in choosing your own path. However, if you choose True Demon, then he's ecstatic that not only was his experiment a success, but the very person he experimented on is the very enforcer he was seeking to create, and he doesn't need to go raise another demon, he can just start the war now.

Reminder that True Demon was added later so it actually wasn't the original point. Lucifer was just decided to spice things up a bit for no real reason.
