I used to keep the boxes of my older consoles, but years ago i threw them out. I just didnt see the point as I got rid of the actual consoles themselves. Emulators work fine and these days theyre re-releasing a bunch of the old stuff anyways.

I ended up selling the majority of my game collection a few years ago.
Once I moved out of home and started renting with friends, I didn't have an entire 2nd bedroom to store my game shit in. It was also peak Nintendo 64 nostalgia-buying. Sold my 64 and ~20 games for around $650 Australian (could have gotten >$900 if I sold everything individually, but this guy was happy to take it all). A year later, I sold pretty much everything else I owned PS3 and older. Weirdly enough, it was the same fucking guy who ended up buying the lot.
Made around $1500 total, all for shit that I either had on flashcarts, could get with consoles using CFW (or burnt disks for PS2) or could just plain emulate well enough (64 at the time, which is now actually pretty accurate to the console so there's no point owning one)
Freed up a lot of room and made my room like a lot less like a manchild. I may still be one, but at least I can hide it a lot easier.
I had some regrets maybe a year or so ago, but then remembered it was all PAL shit and inherently worse to play than NTSC so it was worthless anyway
