Yea, the show noticeably died after the 2007 movie came out. It was struggling before that too, but after that mediocre movie, whatever remaining soul the tv show had left was gone

Modern Simpsons is actually kind of terrifying. Catching a new episode is like meeting you favorite uncle after a decade and he's a frail shell of a man and can't remember your name. Marge's voice actor's thoat is so fucking busted that she can't do the voice at all anymore, but she just keeps working anyway.

The Simpsons Game felt like it was meant to be the final "full" Simpsons video game, with its meta nature and he family basically telling God to stop making Simpsons video games. Granted, that scene itself was a video game, but that overall seemed to be the intent.
