i liked the character design in code vein, i just wish they gave you options to not look gay if you're making a guy. Not even a fucking beard menu in this day and age is unforgivable.

All depends on context. A wacky game often has much more room for impractical, revealing clothing than a grounded one.

When its too much of a clash with the rest of the character designs, tone of the game, and the character's own behavior/attitude.

I always kind of forgave Kojimbie for the oversexualization because somehow the female characters were written marginally above industry standard and got the parody pass, but Quiet is his most sexualised and most underwritten in his most straight faced game.

Yeah this. You can argue for tastes...but to me at least after you pass a certain point I end up laughing or cringing instead of finding some things sexy. It just gets to the point where it has the opposite effect because it's either too dumb or trying too hard like how edgy characters can be too edgy or too dumb.

When you start appreciating art of them wearing non-lewd clothes because the sexualization no longer does anything to you.
Senrans have sexy figures, but I'm bored of them hiding shreds of fabric over their nipples and genitalia. I prefer seeing them happy and comfy
