Check your materia setup and go farm some mobs in the slums to get used to switching and re learn what abilities do

Did I play these fights wrong? I felt like I just cheesed Rufus with counters, being anything BUT cool, and the Aerith/Barret fight just felt like a battle of attrition, nothing spectacular.

You're supposed to hit Rufus with Braver for instant staggers. A couple of those should be able to finish him.
Arsenal fight will drag on forever if you focus on the wheels since they're protected most of the time.

Rufus is about breaking his defenses first more than just hit like other bosses, his hp is low the timing to stagger and do damage is short

The arsenal has a red xiii gimmick to quickly kill the barrier drones if you interrupt his cannon. Later he is weak to lighting, but eventually Arsenal puts a lightning barrier so you have to use other magic. Anyway, yu have to keep interrupting his main cannon for ez pressure

No matter how many times I guard or switch characters or use Punisher mode or what the fuck ever, some encounters just fuck you over completely. Sagahins suck dick, propeller fags on the plate support pillar suck dick, the constant boss fights of Chapters 15 through 18, I dunno man. I got killed by Whisper Bahamut and it sent me all the way back to the entrance. I looked up some setup tips for materia and shit and I don't have any of it, like steadfast block or other shit. What the fuck do I do now.

Should have disabled the limit gauge for Rufus. So many people just rely on ascension.

Sahagins are resistant to physical attack
Propeller are easily dealt with if you dodge his melee attack, they enter in pressure state ready for a focused dick thrust for instant stagger.

Go easy on them, bad enough their game is just the first five hours of the original stretched.

Yesterday i tried to beat him without sleep/stop/limit, and it was really fun
it is all about dodging bright lights and guns akimbo and predict his reload to braver his ass

Focus on the red one and counter stance everything. Use uppercut + dive kick combo with tifa to do more damage.
Keep aerith shitting fast like fire or thunder-aga spells, and have barret use steelskin + lifesaver for easy defense. also you wanna either go for haste + magnify or barrier + magnify. Not cure, not worht it, specially with barret.

spam the shit out of chi trap, overcharge, max fury to stun lock blue/yellow cunts and counter spam red cunt

I love the fact that Rufus is now a dumbass rich kid who spend probably billions to become Gunslinger Dante

For the first phase the fight is more about surviving, so you should have Barret or Tifa equipped with a Prayer Materia for constant party wide heals, the second phase is more of the same. After you get through the two phases where you fight only some of the whispers rather than all three, make sure to start applying all your Haste and other buffs to the party so that when Bahamut is out you can call in a summon and spam abilities as quickly as possible. Make sure especially to summon Aerith's familiar if you have it unlocked for a bit of extra DPS

MGR is fun but come on, it’s the most Reddit meme game in existence.

One of the best fights in the game, It's great that Arsenal and Valkyrie are pretty much Barret's boss fights since he's unavailable for most of the game

A lot of enemies and bosses require actually targeting weak points and countering gimmicks. If you try to unga everything you'll have a bad time because you'll do next to no damage and get battered about
