NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT THE QUACKERINO

Yes

t. woman

Good, Pekking ducks shit all over the porch.

go watch a movie

I want a compelling game.

To that end, having some context and world building that takes place between a good bit of gameplay is helpful in player engagement.

its a walking simulator bro, there is zero gameplay

I just noticed that muh SWJ Sylvanas has some nice tit jiggle animations

Yes. And?

Agreed. If there's no combat it's not really a game. Non-gameplay games like Portal and Journey should categorized in this way too.

>he didn't farm enough to get to level 10 and unlock SSS combos
baka

then why did everyone hate TLOU2 so much

it's more engaging than most video games to be fair

>hate
>Best selling PS4 game
lol

Obviously. Anyone who thinks otherwise is retarded. Gameplay is the essence of a game. If you don't care about gameplay, go watch a movie.

combat is not gameplay faggot, the game just consists in moving a ship and pressing button to read, but at least portal has some jumping, timing, puzzles, etc

faggot

The quantum trials on Giant's Deep should be enough to counter this argument, assuming you know what that is and have played the game. You have played the game, right?

Gameplay is story
Story is gameplay
A game that only has one and not the other will never be more than a toy
See Tetris

Well thats the one puzzle

I agree, while fun gameplay is fun the games I remember the most are those with engaging stories and characters

this

quantum shit was kino, but the solution is just read a text dude

Mind influence>Birth Control>Atmosphere>Writing>Music>Gameplay>Plot devices
The most important thing about a videogame is if its addictive or not through the sum of its parts.

What about World of Warcraft? there is a lot of people who didnt played the game who loves the story and reads the books (beside is utterly shit nowadays) and in other hand, there is a lot of people who plays the game without knowing shit about what is happening

Yes. It's a game. If you think story is so much more important than watch a movie or TV show.

Surface Gameplay (control/interaction) >Visual Direction = Music > Sound effects > Core Gameplay (systems/progression) > Story > Graphics

As my role model, Carmark, tells people: Story is not necessary.

Tetris' story is Work Until Die.
The true Soviet's game

Customization > Music > Gameplay > Artstyle > Characters > Story > Replayabilty

I wish more games did things like this successfully. I want to be able to play a game without having to give a shit about story but have it still there, either for people who don't give a shit about the game but like the setting or for when I get bored and want to read something instead.

And getting to the core of Giant's deep on the jellyfish, plus breaking the current which required you to learn about the tornado rotation, and breaking space time in the High Energy Lab, and getting to the Black Hole Forge, and getting to the Sun Station, and waiting for the ice to melt on the interloper, and calling the shuttle back on ember twin from the interloper, and navigating through the interloper's death gas by using your probe to test tunnels, and finding the angler cave using the light of your scout, and using your flashlight to ride the quantum rock, and solving out how to land on the quantum moon, and figuring out how to get to the pole on the quantum moon, and figuring how to get past the angler fish since you learned they are blind, and figuring out how to operate the vessel, and getting into the ash twin core, and connecting all the pieces of the puzzle of the loop and making a breakneck to the vessel to finish the game. Reminds me a lot of other walking sims like Gone Home and any Snoy movie game.

Well obviously. You can replay a game with good gameplay as many times as possible because you still find new shit you never knew about before. A good story only works once and that's it.

Movies : we want the gaming audience so here's a fun Sonic The Hedgehog and Pokemon movie
Games : we want the mature Hollywood audience so here's an unfun interactive movie with cheap gore and violence

dude, just read things and go, there is no mecanic beside the quantum shit, stop shilling this game
dont mind me, its great, but its a walking simulator

>but where are the guns
>but when do i get to kill something
