How do you play SL1 runs properly? Is there any limit to how much souls are you allowed to use for upgrade and shops? Is farmign for items allowed? I can do SM 30 000 runs in DS2, but I'm not sure how to play SL1. Or what weapn should I be using.

One of the lesss talked about lore pieces is that each of the Lord Souls says "more than enough to satiate the Lord Vessel" implying at most all you had to do was kill one of them but Kaathe or Frampt encourage you to kill them all. Theoretically the Chosen Undead could have just killed one of the Lords to get to Gwyn.

Might be a translation or implication difference. It might just be referring to the power gap between a regular soul or boss soul and a lord's soul, meaning that not even the strongest non-lord comes close, maybe if we could consume a lord soul it would give like 50000 souls (even though Gwyn's just give 20k but we can toss that to the fact he's basically hollow)

Ah, so in SL1 runs you are allowed to use multiple weapons, a mix or sorceries and pyro... I'm not trying to shitpost, but almost every SL1 run I find on YT is either a short (30 mins) version with only major bosses and some le funny shitty music in the background or full videos with a YouTuber who has his face in the corner and talks all the time (I can't watch this), and I don't often see the list of weapons that were used in that specific run.
But since I managed to beat the game with shitty caster and low Vigor (5 initial, raised to 7), I assume 6 (which is initial for deprived class) is not that bad.

It's not some arbitrary speed run route, just never level. I did it as a Pyro with a reinforced club, (Raw, Lightning and Fire)

Yeah pretty much. SL1 is all about finding the absolute best damage output with limited weapon selection, as well as stamina/hp/weight limits.
In DS1 I remember doing a Battle Axe SL1 run, with pyro mixed in where able (some bosses just don't let you use pyro like Arty)
