Rita the smelly lesbian demands that you play a JRPG today. No responding to bait either.
Quarantine JRPG Thread
But I just beat one last night!
it WAS rita's game that you beat last night right user?
Nope. I played about 80 hours of Rita's game on Hard mode, got burned out and dropped it. I beat Grandia last night.
Wouldn't she stop smelling after going for a swim?
Been playing Bravely Default on hard lately. It was okay up until this point, but I got to chapter 5 and even fighting random encounters, every single time I win it's a pyrrhic victory. Does the game just expect you to be using total cheese strategies at this point?
If you try to make Rita wet she will throw a fireball at you. It's not a good idea to try to get her to clean.
How was grandia? Did you enjoy it?
That's inaccurate, Estelle makes her wet without even trying.
>How was grandia? Did you enjoy it?
Yeah, it's great. One of my favorite 5th gen JRPGs. I kind of prefer its first two-thirds to its last third, but it's still a solid game all the way through. I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a good old fashioned adventure.
Should've been canon. It's obvious rita wants to fuck the life out of estelle.
that sprite art looks really good. im gonna add this to my backlog. im still playing last remnant so im gonna be stuck with this game for a while. i heard its like 60 hours.
This game just came out and I don't see a single thread talking about it. Was it that bad?
>SAO
take a guess
Started Suikiden 2 over the weekend. I'm only a few hours in but so far I really liking it. The games visuals are peak PSX era and the animations are snappy and engaging to watch. I'm dumbfounded that so few jrpgs I've played have battle animations on par with a 1998 release.
>SAO game
>2020
The steam reviews yesterday were mostly negative im not sure what happened but yeah its pretty shit
Bamco can't optimize a game
Port is garbage crashes a lot, 2 minutes loads in a SSD, framedrops etc
I've just started Etrian Odyssey V and its my first EO, any tips?
Refunded that bullsht. Even high-end pcs are struggling & it's a fucking waste of time
>2 minutes loads in a SSD
>$60 price tag
The audacity of some of these companies is hilarious. Do they think people aren't gonna care? There's no way they made a profit on this game.
Saofags are spamming thumbs up reviews to balance it out
Not cheese strats, but it does expect you to at least have a well synergized, self sufficient team. Second's hard mode is even more strict in this regard. Enjoy it, both those games in their respective hard modes made for some of my favorite moments in decades of playing JRPGs.
Just experiment and don't be afraid of failure, it's not too punishing in EOV
Can't even get 60 FPS in towns with a 2070s and a 3700x. Embarrassing.
Kek the absolute state of saofags. Why don't fanbases just accept that devs put out half assed games? If they called the devs out maybe they would actually try.
> but it does expect you to at least have a well synergized, self sufficient team.
Well, I don't know what this looks like since the game doesn't tell you what abilities you'll earn in advance and I don't want to look up a guide. I've primarily dealt with things until this point by getting my ninja to force enemies to attack my swordmaster, but the amount of damage and the number of status effects piled on my team is starting to make this unsustainable. I don't really have a good idea of what else to do in mind, so I've just been grinding some jobs and hoping I stumble across a good ability. Would be nice to have some direction
Well that was a trip, guess I'll move on to valkyria chronicles 4 now.
im surprised people are defending this. its actually baffling how many people will defend a shitty game because its tied to their favorite franchise
I don't normally bitch about muh grafix or muh FPS but there's no reason this game should be struggling. A sheer, awful port is all.
So, how was it?
Pretty fun but some things are pure guide bait at the end like inputting the square root of 2 backwards.
Also sleep shells are hilariously OP
Hmmm, outside of things like the hidden bunker and the Goemonkey quest I don't really remember anything hidden or hard to figure out in MM3, MM2R has much more cryptic stuff, I'd say even MM1 does.
Then again it's been ages since I last played it so I can't really remember a lot of the finer particulars, I also didn't like the whole thing with Drumcan, Gluttonous and the rest, and most of the main villains were boring outside of Olga.
>sleep shells are hilariously OP
Missile launchers are worse, then again you can really use a lot of stuff to break the game if you know how to set it up, one of my qualms with 3 though is that there's not a lot of action outside tanks, the other games have more balanced content for both tanks and on foot fights.
what are some ethereal JRPGs that feel like a dream?
Liking flat chest makes you gay.
Thinking about playing Skies of Arcadia, is it good?
good
i saw some anons posting about it last thread they said it was really fun and it deserved a remake. havent played it myself but its another one on my backlog
Contact
it's by Grasshopper Manufacture if you want to search for it. It's also not very good
Currently playing it for the first time myself and it's pretty fun but for the love of god play it on an emulator or some of the random encounters will make you absolutely insane.
> I replayed FF7 and FF8 and finished persona 4 golden.
> I'm now playing persona 5
> then I've got FF9, FF10, tales of symphonia and tales of vesperia.
Lockdown is my bitch thanks to impulsive steam sale spending
does anyone know how go about getting 5 people in my union?
have you played tales of the abyss yet? if not you should add that to your list
Just progress in the story. Also if you plan to get the most out of the game I would look up a general quest and game mechanics guide because TLR has a LOT of cryptic shit like a class system that doesn't even get mentioned at all inside the game.
If you can stand the incessant encounter rate, it's a fun time.
You need to progress through the main story to unlock union slots.
thanks i thought i was missing something will keep progressing. loving the battle system so far never played a turn based game like this before. glad i picked this up. doesnt lost odyssey play somewhat similar to this?
