Then: >The man the myth the legend. World hung onto his every word. Considered one of the godfathers of gaming having created the entirety of the mega man series. Was the Miyamoto of Capcom
Now: >Hated in Japan and America. Considered a con man by many. Washed up and only acting producer for Japanese mobile games
its a great lesson in that you should know your limits. if people think you're great but you know you're not then just sit still and don't draw attention to yourself
Blake Sanders
he didn't even created mega man, this man is a hack
Levi Peterson
reminder that this man almost single-handedly destroyed capcom when he was in charge by westernizing all of their properties
Andrew Wood
>almost single-handedly
He wasn't alone. It was Ben Judd and Inafune working together.
Was it linux that never got a version of the game? I can't remember.
Gabriel Stewart
Ben Judd wrote all those words and ran the kickstarter. He's being used as the scapegoat for MN9 and BS's problems.
Cooper Long
>World hung onto his every word. Considered one of the godfathers of gaming having created the entirety of the mega man series. Was the Miyamoto of Capcom That never happened, mate.
Megaman, at least the 2D platformers, are fucking garbage.
Alexander Nelson
shit, how much of that stuff ever happened if anything?
Aaron Morris
Yes, but back then it wasn't widely known. Most assumed he was the "father" of Mega Man.
Lucas Taylor
>Was the Miyamoto of Capcom No he fucking wasn't . He never reached such that status among the industry or general public. He was known as JUST the Mega Man guy until he started making moves during the 7th Gen Era.
Colton Torres
He single handedly killed the kickstarter dream before all the other flops and his idea lf westernizing everything at capxom was just bad but he's also involved in the creation of a lot of good franchises.
If the next project he's involved with turns out to be good, I'll play it. Le con man memery is pointless nowadays, so ma y yeats later
Andrew Peterson
>Announced a second Kickstarter for "Legally Distinct From Mega Man Legends 3" before "Legally Distinct From Mega Man" released but after we saw how shitty it looked >Didn't meet funding >Announced that China was already going to fund the game fully so the Kickstarter by definition was a scam >Red Ash's twitter account has been dead since 2015 and we haven't heard about it since >Cost Marvelous $4m for some pirate game where you played as a penguin that never amounted to anything or released >Put out a mobile game that couldn't even last a year >Developed MN9 levels using Microsoft Excel (this is not a joke)
I've read a lot about Inafune and Comcept, and I don't know if it's the saddest story ever told, or the funniest.
People attribute far too much ability and success to the leader of a team, as if it wasn't the team producing everything while the leader just gave them a direction. A leader is nothing without the right people to prop them up.
Hudson Edwards
Inafune claimed that Capcom would see the day where they realize they needed him more than they think. That a Mega Man, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry or Street Fighter game made without him as a producer would not have the same magic. Since leaving Capcom he produced Ninja Gaiden Z Yaiba, ReCore and of course, Mighty No. 9. His only break out success is Soul Sacrifice, a game produced by the talented team at Japan Studio. This nigga never had the Midas Touch. He just had a great team at Capcom.
Daniel Bennett
His only good game was dead rising. He then decided to outsource like a fucking retard
Matthew Cox
>>Announced that China was already going to fund the game fully so the Kickstarter by definition was a scam
this is what actually happened. Infune was going to raise funds from the Kickstarter and it was going to get funds from Fuze the Chinese console and MN9 and Red Ash were to be launch consoles for the game.
Now Comcept are an art/design studio. They don't make games. So once they were done designing MN9 they were just twiddling their thumbs which is why they wanted to do more art/design with Red Ash. This led to a lot of confusion as to why Comcept was working a new game before their first game was done, but it's just confusion about the nature of Comcept.
So when Inafune then said "don't worry, Fuze is funding it" he was really just trying to save face. He has a huge ego and his kickstarter blew up in his face and failed. He can't publically admit defeat like that. Behind closed doors they likely tried to search around for more funding but of course having a kickstarter fail like that shows a lack of interest so no one else invested in it.
>Developed MN9 levels using Microsoft Excel (this is not a joke)
Hey that was Inti-Creates!
Camden Carter
I hope Conman scammed enough money from Kickstarter, China, and Level-5 to retire comfortably because I really don't think you can come back from the position he's in. I also don't know what's more shocking: Comcept getting bought out by Level-5, or Level-5 STILL keeping them around instead of shutting them down.
Luke Ramirez
He didn't get any of the money other than his yearly salary. People see millions being raised and think Inafune is a millionaire! The guy is solidly middle class at best but he's had a string of bad games and bad publicity. His saving grace was L5 saving his ass, but his mobile game with them was another dud.
Justin Reed
he never really rose to any prominent level.
Juan Smith
>Drove Capcom into the ground and nearly killed the company with his retarded westaboo bullshit >Did a Kickstarter claiming to be "the father of Megaman" despite being an artist who came late into MM1's development >Took millions of Kickstarter dollars and tried to turn his not-Megaman into a franchise rather than making a good game He deserves the hate
>Inafune says the Japanese gaming industry is stagnant when it comes to ideas >not much later goes and announces he's at the helm of a MegaMan style game
Eli Diaz
But he doesn't deserve his job at Level-5, he's just a walking liability.
Grayson Ortiz
Going though Dead Rising again. Guy was perfect on that one. You talk about soul, the game is nothing but soul.
