When's silkworm
SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU CUNTS AND GIVE ME SILKSONG ALREADY
Is there a more impressive debut in the 2010s?
Undertale and Shovel Knight definitely.
The game isn’t that good. Have you guys even played a Metroid or Castlevania game before hollow knight?
en.wikipedia.org
This was way better.
Yes.
Hollow knight is better than Metroid and Castlevania in every way your nostalgicfag
Yes. Hollow Knight stands toe to toe.
I played Super Metroid when I was a kid, and actually just finished Symphony of the Night yesterday.
Hollow Knight is the better game.
SM was great but doesn't hold up, SotN is still great, but Hollow Knight is better
I think it's the opposite. Super Metroid still allow you to do crazy shit like reverse boss runs.
I did play Super Metroid many years ago. The only Castlevania I liked was the fourth one on SNES. I've 100% Metroid Prime, if that counts.
I went back to Super Metroid recently after having spent 500 hours in Hollow Knight, and I felt like I was controlling a slug on a hot day.
Yeah, I'm and it's definitely Super Metroid that holds up more.
Can't wait for Silksong to come out and not be as good as hollow knight since the hype level is through the roof, then watch as everyone suddenly says "HK wasn't that good anyway".
Why is she teasing us like this bros
Rain World > Super Metroid > Hollow Knight > SoTN
My only real fear for Silksong is the quest system.
Yo Ari you Jew cunt where the fuck is Silksong
thanks for the recommendation, user
I wish I could play rain world but ever since I was a kid I've had massive anxiety about time limits in games
I still prefer Castlevania but only because of the aesthetics and music, but that's just personal preference.
The only objectively inferior element of Hollow Knight is its combat, even SOTN has more depth to its encounters and that's pretty sad.
Otherwise HK outclasses every game in the genre, Super is very overrated.
Hope you enjoy it. Play it blind.
Play it anyway user, it's a truly amazing game.
Yes. Most of them.
But I can understand why this one wouldn't appeal to some people
Yes, Super Metroid (snes and GBA), Metroid Fusion, Metroid 3DS, Metroid Prime 1&2, Symphony of the night and every single metroidvania style castlevania released after that including Lords of Shadow series. Also played a fuck ton of other metroidvanias. Can reassure you Hollow Knight is good.
but what if it rains and i dont get back to base
Then you drown
I'm actually curious, what elements go into making a good metroidvania? Like, what is the secret to setting up a world that feels right for the genre?
last time i checked, kirby wasn't a metroidvania series
>oatbf
>good tier
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAAAAAAA
H
>never played amazing mirror
Lmao. Best kirby game and it's a metroidvania.
Super Metroid is the most overrated piece of shit ever made.
Hollow Knight in superior in every way. Probably because the hoss fights were inspired by a franchise far superior than Metroid (Mega Man).
>the pinnacle of the genre
0/10 shitpost
Metroid games are mediocre as fuck. It inspired better games to be made.
I played Castlevania 1. Does that count?
CV1 aged better than SotN and SM
For starters it requires higher than single digit IQ to beat
Hungry Knight? Isn't that some mobile tier game?
This is the only Australian-made video game worth playing.

Sorry, I meant the only other one.
>implying hollow knight fans know anything about its genre
lol
>best kirby game
That title belongs to Air Ride

For anyone that hasn't seen, there's a mod being worked on by the HK community to add more original bosses to the game. It's not Silksong but it's something to look foward to.
Neat.
