How have you all gone about preventing gamer dent? Personally I've set up strict time tables for when I can have my headphones on and when I can use speakers.
No more than 30 minutes of consecutive usage before a 2 hour break to let my head settle.

For me I bought myself a new fingerbox that I'm only allowed to use when I'm not wearing my headphones.
Now I find myself playing with the fingerbox while hardly ever using my headphones. I hope I don't start getting holifinger syndrome as a result of excessive usage.

No, that is absolutely impossible.
Your skull is a bone, and its impossible that a bone would get deformed by wearing a headphone.
You do of course have these lines in your skull called fontanels but those have hardened already at your age which makes it impossible to deform the overall skull.

I only use headphones when talking to friends, or if I REALLY care about the sound quality of whatever movie I'm watching.

It's the skin on your skull. Wearing headphones can cause "deformation" in the same way that falling asleep on your arm or in stiff clothes causes those indented lines in your skin.

I never understood these big ass headsets. 20 years ago they had earbuds. It's bulky and it looks dumb. Who the fuck decided shooting range earmuffs are the best for gaming? it's a trog trend. i don't need a 6lb piece of shit on my head to play a game. my $12 skullcandy ear buds with mic work great. i didn't spend $80 on a head set and i can use them on my phone in public without looking like a sperg.
