Imagine being the kid that didn't have PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube.

I also had a PS2 so I wasn't really "the kid with the Gamecube".

The GC was awesome but it would have sucked to not join in on conversations with my friends about the crazy shit we were doing in GTA 3.

I spent a lot of time going to other people's houses to play PS2 games.

I had a ps2. When one of my friends got a gamecube, my mom got it for me because they were pretty cheap by that point.

I got to play two of my all-time favorite games in one year, Pikmin and REmake. Melee, ToS, Baten Kaitos, Metroid Prime, TTYD, FE9. It's my favorite Nintendo console, partially due to my age when it came out. No regrets.
My friends had Gamecubes too.

My friends would come to my house to play smash, mario kart, mario party, etc. I don't remember my friends having any multiplayer games worth playing on ps2

So I had an N64. Naturally because of that I got a Gamecube and I had Gamecube friends, we talked about Windwaker and Smash and Sonic Adventure, and SC2 had fucking Link, but one of these "friends" liked Spongebob.

I fucking hated spongebob.

I got into gaming magazines and emulating and PC games too, and the TV started saying that Spongebob made you gay, so I bought a PS2.

The fact that you could carry it around was great. My mom bought me this portable monitor that could plug into cigarette lighters, so whenever we went o road trips I would be lying down in the backseat playing Melee and Mario Sunshine the whole time, shit was cash.
