This. Releasing this game post-Endgame is a huge mistake, because I believe many people may have moved on from capeshit after that.
Also, the game looks just so... soulless and bland. And that goes beyond different character designs, which just look weird.
And whether you like that or not, not being an exclusive also has an effect on hype.

If covid hadnt killed movie theaters, the mcu would have continued with their average 700 to 800 million dollar range films. I think the difference is that there were decades in between the film releases and the game releases, so people weren't burnt out with the series by the point of the games releases.
We've been getting a dozen Marvel movies every year for a decade, so I think it's safe to assume even the normies are feeling a bit burnt out.
