My 5.0 dolphin refuse to play Super Paper Mario and TTYD

What should I do?

Playing TTYD was a pretty fun time, I enjoyed my first run of it. This was after starting with SPM and then playing the original shortly after. I got lucky and was able to pick up TTYD at a local shop for cheap
What I'll say though is I couldn't pick a favorite. I played all 3 within the course of a year or two during high school and each really stood on its own with its own merits and flaws.

The tournament is actually the worst fucking thing but I pretend it's good to shit on faggots that think SPM is good.

Because that's where you get the best partner

>can we have a comfy paper mario thread?
no lol

>has exactly one use for a story battle
>said battle configuration literally never happens again
>oh well he's the fast transport
"Ok."

aren't all of them like this?

>I only play optimally, never for fun, or because I liked the character.

Lies. I used Yoshi all the time in the Pit. Those Dark Wizzerds have huge defense that Yoshi negates

Am I alone in preferring PM64? It has more of a mysterious and magical atmosphere/feeling that’s absent in TTYD.

PM64 isn't like that.

No, you have good taste.

I really liked 64 for the more classic Mario adventure feel. TTYD felt like they went for a grand, globe-trotting feeling while 64 felt a bit more condensed. I like them both that way, because 64 feels that much more familiar and cozy as a result.

They both have their pros and cons that might make you prefer one over the other. Personally, I like TTYD best, but I understand why someone might prefer 64.That said, they're both so good that it really boils down to personal preference which one you enjoy more.

>the Pit
Oh, so the after game that only 5% of players see? Gotcha.

For me it’s Doopliss theme youtu.be/uvug9_xljlY

>It's no longer possible to modify Mario characters or create original characters that touch on the Mario universe.
Which is why we had so many new and unique Ghosts in Luigi's Mansion 3, including one with a fetish for King Boo. Isn't that right, Tanabe, you absolute bastard?

Fav chapter: doopliss
Fav yoshi: red

>Train
>Red because it's the one I always got

Did he really say that? If so, then at least now we know they have this stupid rule that goes against making the game as good as the originals.

I have never gotten pink or sky blue yoshi i refuse to believe theyre real

source or gtfo, I don't remember there being a new interview yet, most of the interviews were during Sticker Star/Color Splash era

Chapter: Shadow Palace
Yoshi: White, the curl gets me

videogameschronicle.com/features/interviews/paper-mario-origami-king/

They’re based on the amount of time you interact with the egg on top of the taco or hot dog stand or whatever and when you run from the boys you can’t beat. White yoshi is like 20 or 30 minutes or some shit

fucking hell

thanks for the source, now I want to die

I think PM64 tries to be alot more cheerful and fantastical, while TTYD is kinda more darker and grounded.

I don't really find PM64 all that "mysterious" feeling though, mostly because a lot of the world building elements feel all seem more laid out in front of you. Magical elements are just apart of everyday life, stars grant wishes, Merlon predicts the future in his little spinning hut, etc. I think TTYD is more mysterious simply because a lot of the elements of this place are left unknown until the later half of the game. There's an entire old civilization underground, where magic is more forgotten above ground and replaced with a thieves den, where there's this door that holds a mysterious power that we find out later houses an ancient evil.

I completely understand why someone would prefer PM64 over TTYD though, it's simple and stupidly charming of a world.

Glitz Pit gets a bit repetitive for my taste. Chapter 7 (minus going around the fucking world for General White) is my favorite chapter.
Here's the real question, Zig Forumsros: have you beaten the Pit of 100 Trials before fighting Hooktail?
