I needed a PC to work from home, plus all my favorite games are on PC. Also games on steam are cheap as fuck, or you can pirate them all really easily. I also have a ps4, 3ds and switch but I mainly use my PC everyday.

All games are better on a higher frame rate.
The input polling rate is also bigger and more responsive.
Also it looks better, specially when you have reflexive surfaces onscreen.

The PC ecosystem usually doesn't try to sell me ports of games I already own, and the games are less expensive.

It's a better investment to buy a PC game, because most likely I can still play it 20 years later; whereas if I buy a game on Switch/PS4, I have no reason to expect that day one patches will still be available to download.

it's the same logic that applies to buying an RV-truck instead of a scooter:
the RV is specialized in what you want to do, it is faster, has more space, is comfortable, sturdier and you can even cook, sleep, shit and piss within it. It can do everything and can even be used as a secret base for more shady business

Meanwhile, the scooter just does it's job of transporting, with barely any room for other features.
Some people get one exclusively because they can drive where a car isn't allowed (IE having exclusives)
However, most of the time, people get a scooter instead simply because they can't afford to get an RV or are too stupid to handle one.

In short, the PC costs more but it does everything better and the console just does the one thing it was designed to do, hence costs pennies in comparison.

I bought a gaming pc 9 years ago, about the same time that I had owned an xbox 360 for a couple years.
I've spend more time on this game pc than all of my consoles since i was a kid, combined.
And I've paid for about 25% of the games that i've played on pc, but 100% of the games i've played on console.
I will keep buying consoles provided they have decent exclusives that interest me.

If you only play games then of course you don't need pc. But if you are older than 13 you kinda need proper pc to fulfill your digital needs.

So, lower the settings then, you brainlet. You don't always have to be running games at ultra. Games like RDR2 and Exodus are designed so most of today's hardware struggles to run it at ultra settings in order to future proof it. If your problem with PC gaming is poor performance you need to learn how to adjust settings.

PS3 servers are up 15 years later, I don't think Sony or Nintendo are going anywhere
