It's 75% off on Switch, is it worth it?
Castlevania Anniversary Collection
Absolutely, go for it
Why don't just emulate?
It's got CV3 and 4, those two games alone merit the price.
This is a better question. Even if you want to play on the switch, the switch can run pirated games and homebrew.
>pre-sotn era
>Being this much of a fucking casual
Fine, your loss, these games are great.
The Classicvanias are and always have been better than the Metroidvanias.
No reason not to emulate and save money that would be going to fucking Konami anyway. However, if emulating is not an option for whatever reason, it was done by M2 who are the best team out there at doing modern ports of classic games.
I've never played a Symphony-style CV or any "Metroidvania" game in my life. I've played three games in the Metroid series and would label all of them as "pretty good, but not for me". Adding RPG elements like SotN and most of its successors did won't suddenly make it better.
I'm mostly after BL and 4. I could hack my Switch, but at the moment I'm not interested. Got a friend who did it, and it keeps asking for updates and such. I don't mind paying for the games I play on it. I could emulate them as well, but I rarely if ever do so nowadays
hey man, I used to be like you before I tried Rondo of Blood, you should check it out if you havent yet, its the same vibe as SoTN but with the classic action oriented gameplay and all killer no filler level design, might give you a better appreciation for pre-metroidvania games, you're missing out on some good shit
I would buy the collection in a heartbeat if it only had Rondo of Blood. I already have all the games in the collection.
>dude you're totally missing out
I played through them all, they weren't that great
exactly, that's why their formula have been abandoned! oh wait..
>not that great
>plays them all
shut the fuck up you liar.
I'm guessing the only reason they didn't add it was due to them putting it in a collection with Symphony of the Night already.
its true, my favorite was castlevania: the adventure
maybe we just have different tastes anons, I'm sorry for calling your games garbage
Yeah, it's pretty good. Even includes the Japanese versions so you get the improved music in CV3.
Rondo being gone makes sense. The bullshit is that they skipped out on a perfect opportunity to take The Adventure ReBirth out of Wiiware purgatory. Konami & Hudson's 7-8 Wiiware exclusives have yet to be ported, years after the Shop Channel went down.
I'LL GET PAID IN AUGUST AND ILL GET A SWITCH ON AUGUST 1ST
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>CV2
>American CV3
>No Rondo
Why fucking bother
don't give your money to Konami.
You can swap all the games to the JP versions if I'm not mistaken. Rondo's in the PS4 bundle, I wish it had the SNES version for completion's sake though
holy shit, a Charlotte I didn't have.
sorry but i see this shit all the time on here:
>played all games at highest difficulty with no deaths
>series is total garbage
No way would someone commit that much time and energy to a series they didn't like. Just stop making shit up.
>Castlevania I and III with no deaths on your first try ever
i have heard the emulation is pretty bad
but i mean 75% off and for switch... if it was for PC i would just say emulate it (properly).
it's been a long while since I've seen such shit taste
should ask before saving that, user.
I haven't, I'm searching for sauce/better resolution first.
>i have heard the emulation is pretty bad
From who, you fucking idiot?
