The townsfolk themselves were pretty degenerate. There are some terminal entries where the mayor is happy how the towns people have ripped off some NCR soldiers, there's a bunch of whores and the town itself, while pretending to be loyal to the NCR, has given shelter to the likes of the Legion and Powdergangers.

Was the killing justified? Up to you. But going by the terminal entries throughout the town, the townsfolk aren't saints either.

I've been playing 4 for the first time recently, and the biggest flaw so far is how much is fucked over by thw dialogue system. It feels like there's no choice in conversations. When there is a choice its with a random chance of success and most npcs dont want to talk to you after their first conversation.

Both Fallout 3 & 4 have missed the 'point' of Fallout you sewer rat. Once again, the gunplay of Fallout 4 at least makes it somewhat enjoyable to go through combat.

not him but it's not like FO3 had some competent RPG mechanics going for it. I like 4 more because better world design and shooting as user said, also Far Harbor was great atmospherically, but these are both mediocre games so it's not worth arguing over them. I will say that FO4 is a better modding framework though

The RPG elements are dogshit in 3, and might as well not be there. I'd rather have them taken out almost entirely like 4 to get the cool base building, gunplay, companions(for the most part), and armor.

Writing in New Vegas isn't particularly good compared to, say, classic literature, but it definitely stands out from all the other games who usually try to be masterpieces and fail miserably just because the devs reckoned themselves great writers while not having read a single book in years.
