UE looks greasy.

help me choose, if I want to make a game for phones is Unity the only option?

C# or C++?

Unity if you want shitty graphics but playable framerate.
Unreal Engine if you want great graphics but shitty framerate, combined with horrible input lag.

Unity is dead.

Fox Engine

What's the best engine for 2d games with very few animations?

Unity is a meme, Unreal is an engine

Cryengine

If you write your own shaders it comes down to whose interface you like best.

gms

Both engines are good and if you know what your doing can do most things with either
The biggest difference with any engine is workflow and support

Both are bloated pieces of shit with horrible code standards.
Only reason they exist is because game "devs" are too stupid to write their own engine.
Become a chad 3d engine programmer, and at the same time move to an industry that actually pays a livable wage.

which one is the least jewish with subscriptions and fees?

Godot

Is it better for 2d than gms2?

based

Jupiter

Unity is the worst engine known to mankind

Probably not. But you make the game, you own it.

It's actually a really great engine.
You probably only hate it because of stupid shovelware pushed onto steam.

There is no answer to this. They are different tools that work differently. And you have to take into consideration many things specific to you.
But in the end, the engine doesn't matter. You won't max out the capabilities of any engine, so you should choose whatever workflow you're more comfortable with.

godot

Engine doesn't matter since you will never make your own game anyway.

Either
C#

t. unreal shill

UE runs like shit.

RPG Maker 2003

I see a dick percing hollow Discord logo.

Pubg mobile runs just fine

if FN is capable of running on phones then UE cannot be considered to run like shit

Then why does every locked at 60fps 3D fighting game use it?

what to use if I want to make pixel trash?

UE runs like shit because most devs are retarded when comes to optimizing games, even what few AAA devs use the Engine are shit at it

gms2

Many a famous pixeltrash got made with it.

Cryengine best engine

Stride.

I love eternal but the engine could be more stable
still having occasional crashes and I'm not the only one
