The truth is: nobody knows exactly what the whispers are. Sure, there are some explanations in-game but thats not enough. If suddenly an assassin teleported to my room and i asked what the fuck, i dont think him saying "huh what? im just an assassin" would be enough.
So yeah, you joke around with it. Time jannies nomura kingdom hearts time travel and bla bla. Just like that. It is fine, it was funny at some point.
But then people moved past it and wanted to explain the whispers in a more detailed way, to theorize. So what people do? they start looking in the original, in the compilation and in the remake for answers. Most nods and most clues stromgly indicate that the whispers might be related to the lifestream, the planet and are, indeed, cries of the planet. This is just A THEORY, thats how you create a theory. To explain something you dont know based on clues. Since we dont the entire remake project yet, it is fine to theorize and try to give some meaning to stuff we dont entirely know yet. We will have our answers, and if the remake ends and theres no real whispers explanation, then we will get mad and stuff.
But you dont like that. You dont like that people might be interested in what the whispers are rather than join the shitposting train and spam time jannies. You dont like that people, despite not knowing what the whispers are or why are there, they still like the game and look forward to it.
So you get mad at people and start to mock them. "OH OK SO THE WHISPERS IS THIS, PRETTY SIMPLE HUH GOOD WRITING LMAO, YEAH, WHY NOT PUT TIDUS IN THE GAME BECAUSE...HUH...THIS INTERVIEW SAID THAT IT IS CONNECTED HAHA OK TIDUS IN FF7 GUYS", when it doesnt even make sense because it is not about just being entirely possible, it is about common sense. Tidus in ff7 isnt the same as the whispers being part of the planet.

I mean the game is not perfect but it is still a pretty good.
Expect to recieve praises when it comes to PC.

i honestly love it. they definitely recaptured the SOUL of midgar in the original. the characters are great, the music is great, midgar is breathtaking, the combat is great, the set pieces are wonderful, and it's overflowing with little nostalgic details (random NPC dialogue taken from the original, the item shops in wall market, the chapter 14 scene, etc). i even loved the over the top sephiroth battle. my only gripe is that combat can get frustrating on hard mode because there aren't many ways to avoid damage, no perfect parries or dodges.

The visual design is unappealing and I don’t want to see Barret get Aerith’s iconic death seen only to be resurrected. It was the Final Fantasy equivalent of Star Trek: Into Darkness. It was stupid.

You can hate me for wanting a straightforward remake with better graphics and a tighter version of the same story, but that’s all lots of fans wanted from this project.

Honestly it’s not even a remake it’s a lazy sequel and the new ideas it brings to the table are weak sauce.

When I got offered the chance to do more sidequests I just decided to head straight to Shinra HQ. I was just done with the game at that point. Little did I know I had another 5 hour boss rush to get through.

I'll never ever play this game again.

It’s a garbage game that flopped horribly and has the same sales tragectory as KH3 which hasn’t even topped 5 million sales. FFXIII-2 dropped off by 70% in terms of revenue, this will be even worse. Part III will be cancelled
