GAMERS??
>edgy teen acts rebellious
no way!
women are to be treated like children
they are not capable of elevated thought patterns
>kill about 50 people
>"I get it now! Killing is wrong!"
Ellie's writing in Part II was really bad.
It's double-fucked that Joel is written to just sort of sit there and take it, when he had a valid argument.
>No guarantee that it would actually work
>Even if it did, they have no means of distribute it effectively
>He came through on his part of the initial bargain, but they reneged on him, and even threatened to kill him
>He may not have given her a choice in the matter, but the Fireflies sure as hell didn't either, and were just going to kill her without asking her opinion
Instead, he just sits there and whimpers like a beaten dog while she dresses him down and calls him an asshole.
based
>not getting that she acts like that because she wanted to find the cure
>not getting that she would accept death if they can make a vaccine from her
You guys are fucking retard and criticize things only for the sake of criticizing.
Let me educate you, kid
Canonically, she killed 2 people in part one, and 4 people in part two
In the last game, you get to see her getting sick of killing as the sorry progresses
Will the relatives of the 4 people come after her in Part III
I find it hard to believe she would give her life for the cure.
It's up to the game's main themes, I don't think they'll do the same thing as the did with part 2, because LoU is not the typical survival game
>I find it hard to believe she would give her life for the cure
Why? She literally says it in the game, that's why she gets angry.
People with brain would have saved Ellie.
Everyone would've saved Ellie even if the cure was guaranteed, that's not the point
I would let her decide.
Despite there is a bond developed with the girl, i know that her desire is more important than my egoistic choice.
Ellie has survivor's guilt. But unlike most with this condition, she can direct her angry and self-loathing at person - Joel.
Pity the game is shit.
Mmmm.... sweetie? expecting women to not have awful personalities is misogyny.
The point is that she's mad at him for not giving her the choice, when the Fireflies didn't either, and frankly, I'm more apt to side with the guy who's default isn't to murder a little girl on a BIG maybe.
Penis envy. Many such cases.
>In the last game, you get to see her getting sick of killing as the sorry progresses
This isn't even true the last guy she kills right before getting to abby was merciless and backstabby and nothing indicated anything you said. She only felt bad about the preggo because she's pro-life or some stupid shit.
>Instead, he just sits there and whimpers like a beaten dog while she dresses him down and calls him an asshole
That's because he perfectly knows that he did it mainly for himself
>when the Fireflies didn't either
She would totally agree to sacrifice tho, so it doesn't matter so much. Also Joel lied to her for a few years about this, not telling to her the truth about her sacrifice and his massacre.
It's because Joel is a straight white male and Druckmann doesn't like them. Why do you think he got brutally beaten to death and desecrated? Ellie is a STRONG LESBIAN WOMEN who don't need no man!
They didn't know that any more than he would, because they never asked.
His personal motivations aside, he still had plenty of reason to do what he did, not the least of which being that Marlene tried to fucking rip him off again.
Imagine a 15 yo that want to sacrifice herself for the 'sake of mankind'. Lmao
*hits pipe*
Or fingers even
Related but mostly off topic, how'd you guys like Troy Baker as Joel?
>the last guy she kills right before getting to abby was merciless and backstabby
And totally unnecessary, the guy couldn't even move and she could have just walked away. Her killing the pregnant cunt was 100% self defense but we have to feel bad about it for some reason.
That's what always pushed her to go forward.
You would constantly hear her say things like "once we get there" "I can't wait these things (infected) are gone" "when we find the Fireflies", etc. That was her life goal
He didnt make any of those arguments
>After everything we've been through, everything I've done... It can't have been for nothing.
Boy howdy, did they forget about that in the sequel, huh?
>, and 4 people in part two
This can't be a serious post right? I mean you're not really that retarded are you?
She only killed him after he said "I swear."
She was reminded of Joel
That's my point. He easily could have, but Druckmann just wrote him to sit there and take it because the plot needed him to be blatantly in the wrong in this situation.
Ya it would have been so interesting to see Joel speculate about vaccine distribution methods. Fuck off retard
I'm gonna fuck you in the ass
He was perfect I guess.
I read that Joel was supposed to mumble 'Sarah' before getting killed but he said it wouldn't work, thank god
Are you some sort of advanced retard or something?
I'm not sure what your point is here. I don't give two shits about what you would find interesting, just what the character could, and by all rights should have logically done in that situation.
>try to make it seem like a big deal that Joel threw away a possible cure to save Ellie
>write a plot where the infected have barely any presence
>make them trivial and boring to fight compared to humans during gameplay
>portray every human settlement as thriving
Bravo, Druckmann. I sure do feel the weight of Joel's decision.
She says it in the second game, in the first game neither she or Joel knew that the surgery would kill her. Joel tells her they're probably just going to take a blood sample or something, and he doesn't find out that they'd actually be cutting up her brain until Marlene tells him at the hospital
You just want him to cope because that's what you would do. In part 1 he didnt sit in the hospital pondering if they could manage to get enough glass vials, and if they had a large enough fuel source for the trucks needed to transport and distribute them to rural Kentucky. He just started blasting people in the face on pure emotion.
You want him to act like a weasel because that's what you would do. Trying to desperately explain away things and make any excuse possible.
Ellie as of TLOU two is comparable to the average GTA protagonist. She "feels bad" about the brutal murders she commits, then goes on tp continue to commit brutal acts of killing.
Abby may be a fucking Psychopath but at least she has an actual character arc ( somewhat similar to Joel) and i dunno tries to do something good. Ellie just slips further down until the end where she just decides not to. No i don't buy that Ellie at this point wouldn't have simply kept Abby's head under water until the bubbles stopped.
On that note it's also a kinda hard for me to believe that Abby after seeing what she was capable of up to this point to believe that after seeing the dead body of the only man besides her father that she loved and while her murder boner was at full mast, wouldn't have just slit Dina's throat in front of Ellie. Before going back to continue angrily caving Ellie's face in with her bare fist.
But then again Lev being there and all so i guess it makes sense.
Self inserting is a pretty big issue with this game
>‘Well Joel shoulda done this!! It was retarded Ellie acted that way, she shoulda done this!!’
The story isn’t about you at the end of the day. People also don’t make rational, informed decisions in the moment, emotion informs a lot of the decision making going on in a heat of the moment situation
>humans are still divided and slaughter each others for whatever stupid reason
Yeah right, world is a paradise
Think you're supposed to assume that a vaccine was guaranteed if they did the surgery.
Which is dumb, don't think any real vaccine for anything has ever been guaranteed to work before being made and tested, but it's what Druckmann wants you to think
On top of that, the WLF is a large enough organization that they must include a few doctors and scientists, right?
So, them knowing what happened at the hospital, why didn't Owen and Abby capture Ellie at the beginning with the intent of trying to make the vaccine again? Rather than letting her go
Think his point was that the infected don't seem like nearly as much of a world ending threat in the second game as they did in the first, humans are le real monsters now
>don't think any real vaccine for anything has ever been guaranteed to work before being made and tested
Not to mention the fireflies are complete incompetent buffoons that get massacred constantly over the course of the game, how the fuck are they going to produce and distribute a vaccine
>On top of that, the WLF is a large enough organization that they must include a few doctors and scientists, right?
Doctors/Field Medics sure, scientists, i doubt it. WLF seemed more like a paramilitary outfit than the Fireflies.
