Silent Hill. Anyone who says Deadly Premonition is retarded because beyond surface level, shallow similarities that are outright plagiarized, they are not similar at their cores and have completely different design, atmosphere, and goals. Silent Hill is less similar on a level of shallow appearance, but is closer to reality.
is the english translation for mizzurna falls finished yet?
Nope but based ruskie is still working on it.

Silent Hill 1 to 3. Though it's a combination of it and other horror works. 'Nowhere' type places are alike to redroom and the series' use of doppelgangers truly capture Twin Peaks without being a pale imitation.
Soulless ripoffs are Deadly Premonition, Alan Wake, etc. Same with the anime series Serial Experiments Lain, though kudos for it to keep ripping off the electricity shit.
wtf r u me
Any game without an ending.
>Lain is a ripoff of Twin Peaks because powerlines
DOPPELGANGER
but it had an ending user
killer7 is very lynchian in places
incredibly based reply
I don't think a series finale has ever stuck with me more than The Return did
Lain is nothing like Twin Peaks, that's a completely ridiculous claim to make. The tone and style bear absolutely no similarities, both are unsettling and surreal but in completely different ways. Twin Peaks electricity themes are wholly different from Lain's internet themes and not even vaguely similar beyond the fact that the internet runs on electricity. The two series have completely different styles, plotlines, underlying messages, atmosphere, etc they aren't the same at all and to say they are, let alone one being an outright soulless ripoff is ludicrous, even Silent Hill is far more outright derivative of David Lynch in general than Lain (although SH is certainly not wholly derivative or a ripoff).
hi ross
lol defending fire walk with me and evangelion simulator
>Silent Hill is less similar on a level of shallow appearance, but is closer to reality.
No. The show never focused in personal trauma nor a fucking sect, and the evil in TP is a chad who doesn't need believers nor others guilt to exist.
As always you pretentious fags are the most retarded.
SH2 is a Lost Highway ripoff tho.
>The show never focused in personal trauma
????????????????
FLOWER, SUN, AND RAIN
papers please
No, it wasn't a main theme like in SH2, not even close.
Of course it touched it, first because it's a fucking soap opera, it touches pretty much every theme, but only tangentially with an actual main theme, past sins, although it focused in how characters buried them, not how they were tormented by them, much less used by the evil.
Hey, it used a lot of stuff like a chilling photograph of a (hated not loved) child with an insane mother who had visions.
But if we're talking about similarities, consider the themes of the other world, red themeing of the other world, literal ancient indian burial ground, how it approached its doppelgangers and etc. The list goes on.
>Forgeting Maria
What are you even trying to say you fucking monkey? Lain is NOTHING like FWWM or Eva, and Eva sure as shit is not anything like Twin Peaks or FWWM, but it must be because apparently Lain is identical to both, right? Explain your point with words instead of meme shitposts you retard.
Again, you are only comparing them based on the most shallow surface level observations possible, appearance and base plot. elements. SH takes tons of clear inspiration from David Lynch's work in it's design, atmosphere, audio design, horror, music, etc. Also
>Twin Peaks is never focused on personal trauma
Are you fucking serious? Tons of Twin Peaks is focused directly on Laura Palmer's trauma, and the trauma it induces in the town as a whole. Also, BOB being a stand-in for "the evil that men do" and very clearly being symbolic of childhood trauma and the trauma it makes people go on to spread and inflict on others as they become adults. FWWM is clearly a surreal presentation of a regular story of horrible violent sexual abuse in a small family/household, even though yes, BOB is an actual entity in-universe. This is extremely similar to SH's entire core approach.
lol lain sucks
The Twin Peaks Season 2 Finale was the peak of the show, prove me wrong.
Nice opinion but it's still nothing like Twin Peaks
I’m not pretentious enough to enjoy twin peaks
It was the peak of the original run, but FWWM and S3 are the true Twin Peaks
FWWM, Episode 8 and the final two episodes of the Return tbqh.
I love the Wizard of Oz shit, which btw, Silent Hill 2 and 3 reference in major parts including the music box before you watch the Mary tape, as the theme is the red slippers give a wish.
For me, its Fire Walk With Me
FWWM was good but the first 30 minutes sucked and the nightclub scene was drawn out too long.
>The list goes on.
Yeah the list of similar surface stuff is long, I'm arguing with the other guy the main core of both works are different.
>Forgeting Maria
What do you mean?
>SH takes tons of clear inspiration from David Lynch's work in it's design, atmosphere, audio design, horror, music, etc.
That's literally the most shallow surface, while I talked about main themes, and the origin of the stories: the villains.
>focused directly on Laura Palmer's trauma
Again, the problem is how each work treats the theme of trauma.
SH2 is about MANAGING trauma, in TP trauma is an ELEMENT, not a core, the trauma exists but it's not the point.
>FWWM is clearly a surreal presentation of a regular story of horrible violent sexual abuse in a small family/household
Excatly a PRESENTATION, the film tells the tale, not how the characters manage psychologically the events in said tale AFTER the fact, because that is not the focus, unlike in SH2 where the point is not Mary's sickness and death, but James reaction to it.
The night club scene fucks me up. I don't like whores
