ZX > Zero

ZX > Zero
Always was. People didn't want to admit it because they were less "hardcore," but they were better games.

You are probably shitposting but I agree
The better resolution and actually knowing what is ahead of you helps tremendously
As much as I like Tango nah not really.

ZX is good if you memorize where everything is and ignore the side-quests. Z2/Z3 cut to the action and are better for it.

Tell me when ZX gets good then please, I have like 3 hours played on my save and have no will to keep going, the overworld doesn't add anything to the game other then ruining the pacing. I kept hearing that it was like a metroidvania and was excited but there isn't anything worth looking for in the map other than E tanks from what I could tell.

It's a slow burn. You're just too used to the other games being fast paced.

I just think they fucked up by adding all of this exploration but then making it not really mean anything, I love metroidvanias but the map is just not worth scrounging.

It is to talk to characters and enjoy the aesthetics. ZX has probably the best background work in the franchise, they really went all out. It's not a checklist constant powerup marathon like most Metroids though, you're right. In at least the first game, it's closer to a 2D Legends game with Zero action stages than anything else

It doesn't get good. It gets boring after a while. Not helping is the game forcing you to fight the main and sub bosses again every time you visit the area you already visited.

Horrible pacing thanks to open world design
Lame annoying whiny protagonist
Terrible useless forms
Penalizing me for not hitting a boss's hitbox just right
Seriously where the fuck do I go
Was it too much trouble to start me at the beginning of each level when I select the mission
Why do I have to walk
Why do I have to guess where the zones are
The town music is grating on my ears
Doesn't help that the town is completely pointless and shouldn't exist in a 2D megaman game
Why do I have to switch forms to talk to useless NPCs

Dropped hard. Fucking unbelievably boring pile of trash after Zero.

>There are people who will say ZX and ZXA are trash.
>These same people will say X, BN and Legends are good series
lmaotbh

>Penalizing me for not hitting a boss's hitbox just right
Don't forget that elemental weaknesses are fucking useless since they barely do any damage to bosses. Not to mention how the other biometals' special weapons are fucking shit.

In tone and story, yes.

Not so much gameplay.

Does Advent improve things?

Advent is my favorite Megaman game. It's pretty much an evolution of ZX in everything and exploring is way better too since you can teleport. Expert Mode is fucking hard though.

ZX is trash. ZXA is an improvement.

Kill yourself with your shit taste

Are you retarded you can kill bosses in seconds with the weaknesses

Also, Ashe is a babe. That is all.

Why can't you duck in biometal form? That always pissed me off. You can duck in human form.

Also most of the transforms suck that you just finish the game in zx or hx form. Shit gimmick. Only thing worse than that is the zero4 arm attachment.

Any images of Quint raping Roll?

>Why can't you duck in biometal form? That always pissed me off. You can duck in human form.
Mega Men don't duck.

Except in X5 and 6, but no one cares about them.

> ZXA
The whole A-Trans thing is just a gimmick that ruins pacing.

I've been a massive fan of Megaman for 20 years and played every game on this collection when i was younger apart from ZXA.
I just finished it on hard mode earlier today and I think it's more memorable and tighter than ZX1. Some of the level design is a bit irritating and feels like its really out to get you, but not unlike the Zero titles so I think it can be forgiven once you git gud. There can be a lot of strategy to changing forms during boss fights which is fun and the final stage is probably some of the most satisfyingly difficult platforming in any mega man game - they drop all the bullshit from the previous levels and just expect you to be real smart about how you play. i was pleasantly surprised.

Should probably elaborate before another user calls me out on it - while there is some strategy to using the boss transformations, a lot of them are still very situational and/or useless.

also is it just me or is the music really quiet in ZXA? A shame because the soundtrack is great.

It's probably the most consistent series. None of them are bad, they just appeal to different tastes. Meanwhile most X games are shit and BN had two stinkers and a super short finale.

The only good Inti MM game is MM9.

PX and FX were fun.
X6 is kinda garbage, but it's still more fun than X4.

Among the Pseudoroid forms I think only Buckfire was viable. That is, until you hit small passageways.

I have no idea how someone could enjoy MM9 and turn around and say Zero 3 is bad.

Probably because Zero is inherently bad.

>t. Shitter who cries when the game calls him a baby.

The Zero series has the most depth to its gameplay compared to all other MM series

ZX is Model H the game right?

And?

and so it builds upon what made the other series good. it's only doing what they did but better. Assuming you actually like mega man, this is only a good thing

It can't even beat the physics of the lowest point in the series, nevermind all the other trash mechanics that were buried and forgotten not once but twice.
