Okay. For the sake of argument. If Nintendo literally announced a direct sequel to the first two Paper Mario games, and they designed and wrote it to be a direct successor to those games, would you play/buy it? Furthermore, would that interest you as much as, if not more than, Origami King?
How dare you try to turn this around on me with perfectly reasonable expectations
Jordan Roberts
Yes
Liam Miller
Yes. Next thread.
Brandon Murphy
>a direct sequel to the first two Paper Mario games Already exists and it's called SPM.

Yes. It would interest me way more than Origami King. I want Paper Mario to go back to representing actual characters with a paper aesthetic rather than having literal paper characters who constantly crack jokes about the fact that they're paper.
Jeremiah Rivera
>and they designed and wrote it to be a direct successor to those games Super Paper Mario's story has nothing to do with 64 or TYD.
Dylan Sullivan
Yeah sure, let's see a sequel to the two lowest selling games in the series lol.
>would i be more interested in a game that attempts to be like a good game instead of a game that attempts to be like a shit game yeah. too fucking bad we won't though.
Benjamin Allen
Maybe? I feel like the well has been too thoroughly poisoned.
I’m happy just having two really good PM RPGs and a separate unrelated PM adventure series of middling quality
Grayson Morris
Origami King is a good game. Nintendo Treehouse's script for the English VERSION of Origami King is absolute garbage. I will wait patiently for a fan translation that is accurate to the actual game.
Nathaniel Sanders
Thousand Year Door's story has nothing to do with 64
Levi Morales
It still acts like the events of that game happened though
Luke Phillips
gee it feels like theres a missing portion of this list that would have been inconvenient to your point but i can't quite place it
Michael Miller
Here's a bunch of vids by some underrated fuck on youtube that spoke about this shit long before arlo ever did. I recommend spreading them in future threads and people who still defend modern paper mario without knowing what makes the originals so great.
yes there are retard Nu-PM as a whole still undersells the classic games. and the entire point is moot anyways because if raw sales is all that matters then the games should still be super-styled platformers.
Yeah, or SPM too. Really I just want combat that has progression instead of being a total boring drag that gets old in an hour. It doesn't have to be ttyd 2 it just has to not have shitty combat, which isn't that hard
Grayson Anderson
No love for the SNES Mario RPG? That was my first one to.
John James
Yes
Alexander Clark
Sure. I just want Paper Mario to actually fucking play like it did before. Was actually on the fence until I saw this shit has no XP or proper battle system either.
Thomas Gonzalez
It's funny how the lowest games got critically loved by everyone and the new 3 games sold a lot but are considered to be garbage and get shit on by everyone. Funny how that works.
I like how it's always "TTYD 2" and not "3rd Paper Mario RPG" Almost like the Origami King shills are underage zoomers and don't realize that TTYD was a sequel to another game
Justin Wright
Depends. Would they half-ass it they way they half-assed "Partners" in TOK?
If it was good, I'd get it. If it sucked, I wouldn't.
Ethan Stewart
Where's the interview where he admits to hearing the hate for his games and why he can't make them good? I remember it came out a day before the game came out.
Elijah Rogers
How well would remakes of PM64 and TTYD sell if they made them in the same engine as the Origami King?
Isaac Baker
>Cody still shilling his fake blog pathetic
Ethan Rivera
When you said direct sequel to the first two games that implied that the first two games story are related, which they aren't.
William Wood
>Cubbies can't even make their own arguments anymore The absolute state
Jackson Adams
I would though I'd also want some small upgrades to the battle system, maybe throw in a handful of gimmicks/mechanics for some bosses and some extra badges. Also different partner line-up instead of giving us another goomba, another koopa, another bob-omb, etc. Spotlight some other species from the Mario universe as partners, NPCs and enemies.
Noah Johnson
>If Nintendo literally announced a direct sequel to the first two Paper Mario games, and they designed and wrote it to be a direct successor to those games, would you play/buy it? >Furthermore, would that interest you as much as, if not more than, Origami King? >If you're given exactly what you wanted and stated you would spend money on, would you buy it and be interesting to you? What's the point of this thread?
Asher Jenkins
Yes.
Jack Edwards
What is wrong with wanting TTYD2?
Jayden Allen
A lot. A shame since TOK looks bad. Realistic Paper was the second dumbest shit to happen to this series
I remember so many good bits from the first three games. The last three? SS: Uh, I guess I remember how the Navi clone wouldn't stop bitching at you if you played battles wrong, and how the beta looked better CS: I remember the steak and the drama about an alleged GG reference TOK: I remember the dick joke, Bobby, and how awful Olly's origin story is.
