Have a hankerin' to replay this game. I remember stopping at the Stone Tower Temple when I played it years ago and never finished.
What's the best way to play it as of now? Emulate 64 version?

3ds

The average person probably would want to emulate the 3DS version but make sure to use the patch to fix most of the shit they fucked up. If you want the truest experience to the original you'll want to play the 64 version, because the patch doesn't fix everything (namely art changes).

Emulate Zelda Collector's Edition on Dolphin

Does 3DS emulation still work? Last I checked they'd shut down the freeshop. I still have a hacked 3DS from back then.

3DS emulation doesn't need the freeshop to work.

I wasn't aware 3DS emulation was viable now.

Meant pirating games on the 3DS with homebrew, my bad
I would prefer to emulate the 3DS version on PC though if 3DS emulation works

any way that doesn't involved the nintendo 64 controller's joystick.

Citra

more like shitra lmao

I mean I'd rather just buy a copy of the 3DS version if the emulation is going to play like shit

Just emulate the original like everyone else dude. 3DS specific "QoL" changes make it feel like a game for toddlers.

citra run pretty well most games but you need good hardware for 3d ones (turn on GPU use)

stuff like rune factory 4 had already almost perfect emulation in 2016-7

If you have to emulate over using a hard N64 copy, make sure it's the Wii VC version. Everything else has graphical glitches at the very least.

How's the Wii U download version? I played Skyward Sword off it and it ran fine. Too bad it's a shit game.

I think there's something a bit off about the brightness, but it's mostly similar to the Wii VC version. I'd still go for that, but you'll probably be fine otherwise.

I cant wait for the PC port. Fuck mario, give me zelda now.

I've been emulating the gamecube version it's pretty good

are ya memeing son? a MM port 20 years later? don't get my hopes up like that.

Fuck wish I still had my Wii. The Wii VC was when I first played it too.

>he doesnt know.

>I remember stopping at the Stone Tower Temple
What the fuck?

I don't know if this would work as authentically, but you could try emulating the Wii VC version.

Wait for Nerrel's texture pack to finish

>wait for retarded inaccuracies with rotobrush
no thanks

best N64 emu at the moment?
I've tried PJ64 and whichever one comes with retroarch

I think it was a case of I didn't want the game to end and eventually moved onto something else. I want to actually beat it though since this and SS are the only ones I haven't beaten.
Fuck SS though I refuse to finish that shit game
Well I'd be using Dolphin so wouldn't I be better off emulating the GC version at that point?
Just searched it, looks kino. Depends if it will be finished soon though.

>purist
n64
>not bothered
3ds + the patches to bring the gameplay and mechanics back in line with the n64

Maybe I just don't make a big deal over what gives 100% best performance, and I'm used to the original graphics (which it sounds like you are too if you played it around release), but I've never felt any reason to not just use Project 64 and an xbox controller.

>fell into the very problems with texture packs he was trying to avoid
""HD"" texture packs are a lost cause.

>wouldn't I be better off emulating the GC version at that point?
The GC version is absolute shit on console to the point of random crashes and exclusive glitches. Don't touch that under any circumstances.

I still have hope for AI texture upscales to be improved in the future, although there are still a lot of problems now.

>OOT and MM run at like 15 FPS native
did anyone ever figure out a way around this?

>on console
I'd be emulating it on PC

Dolphin collectors edition

N64 with patch to put the masks on the d-pad.
