His death wasn't impactful at all and the game didn't let me hand out with him long enough to actually care about him. He was there for a few hours, given a ham-fisted backstory at the last minute, and then he's gone.Not to mention that his death conflicts with previous partners in the series, since Bombette and Admiral Bobbery exploded all the time, but still lived when they did.
