Is Enderal the greatest mod of all time? I can't get over how enthralling this game is

Bethesda are morons, but whoever designed the Shivering Isles did a great job. That place was beautiful.

Get the Enderal Gameplay Overhaul. Makes it feel like an old school rpg. You really have to pull out all the tricks to get out of the harder encounters alive.
Skyrim is a better base for a brand new game.

It's a completley new game. Giant world to explore, dozens of dungeons filled with stories and quests to uncover. And the main plot is gripping. 10/10 ost too. You can download it from it's own steam page

It's on steam. Just have skyrim and you can get it from there and play it with no hassle.

Voice acting was a mistake. Their VAs are even worse than Bethesda's. What a shame.

Some of them are fantastic, only a couple stand outs aren't great. The role of "daddy" is a dough one for anyone to pull off, his performance is the only one I think doesn't live up to the role.

Absolutely false.
Skyrim has the most fucked up movement. Skyrim has the most fucked up parameters whose effects are all capped by the system and to get around it you essentially need to script your own damn parameters and apply it on top of Bethesda's garbage. Even the basics of attacks and stamina is worse in Skyrim. And the way magic doesn't scale is beyond terrible.

In the base game of Skyrim your character essentially reaches their utmost potential around level 25~ give or take a few levels depending on the build. And that's pathetically early and beyond that point no fucking character growth is had outside of plain HP growths on level up.

It's such complete and utter fucking garbage.

I didn't like it. Ignoring the massive hurdles of playing Skyrim, the mod itself wasn't engaging to me.

See, that's the problem right there: you can't fix Skyrim's combat without ripping it out and replacing it with something else. It's not that it lacks in difficulty: it lacks in being fun.

I enjoyed Enderal when it was about exploring and lore and fun quests. I didn't enjoy having to pay more attention to Skyrim's combat system with a new coat of paint. Unless the overhaul is significantly different, and nothing I'm seeing from the mod page tells me it is, 'fixing' the combat so I have to pay more attention to it rather than just being able to mainly ignore it like in the base game is a step backwards.

I appreciate your passion OP but nothing can improve how god awful horrible Skyrim’s visual design looks. It’s not just the graphics or the level design, I just absolutely hate the art style of everything. It’s so dull I feel myself falling asleep when I look at a picture of this engine
