Saga has some interesting themes, more in line with X and Future Connected, but it was mismanaged into a corner.

Personally, my only issue with the gacha mechanics is the retarded field move system that forces you to farm blades to progress the plot (Morytha is particularly guilty of this), also, many of the blade designs are very bad, the main story blades are ok but inviting different artists to design the optional unique blades was a really stupid idea, their designs and art styles don't fit with the main characters, it would have been ok if they had been redesigned in the style of the game, keeping them as originally conceived was a mistake.

Even without the unique blades, there's still artstyle clashing between the main cast and Jin's gang

I do enjoy both games as well, but 2 feels like a sequel that didn't understand what made 1 so great.
