Starrk fought 4 captains/former captains and ended up losing to the second strongest Shinigami in SS.
Barragan only lost due to kido hax, and probably would've defeated virtually anyone who couldn't do a similar trick. Only maybe Yamamoto could have outright overpowered him.
Halibel survived for so long that Aizen got bored and finished her off himself.

It still is one of my favorite fights ever. Even with the hollow ichigo bullshit. I liked that kind of trope.
