Your laptop is trying to kill itself out of embarrassment.

there is a reazon you aren't playing a real game on that laptop, isn't it?

didn't this game literally start the idle game genre?

runecscape did

No you're small time.

it's not like it's literally baking cookies every object just adds a number in the stats

Holy shit, what a pleb

What was the deal with the zebra cookies?

I remember a while back I tried to make an idle game in HTML5 and used cookie clicker's source code as a reference
there's a point where using the actual number is not "good" for your computer to utilize since it's so fucking huge and there's a bunch of other objects like grannies and shit that are also adding onto this number all the time every second, so orteil gets around this by replacing the numbers with another layer of objects to interpret into numbers later
there's alot of processing overhead just to compute the numbers constantly all the time

Is that meant to be Gene Wilder?

>2013
way too late

use a 64 bit float?

I have a problem.

Use a double and multiply it by some modifier. So if the player has 1000 cookies, use the number .01 and multiply it by 100,000.

Man I really should stop ignoring the garden but it's a pain in the ass.

You'd need WAY more than 64 bits to store some of the numbers people have been getting. Although it would make most sense to me to just drop all digits save for the last 18 or so, since anything below that would be so insignificant it wouldn't really affect the game at all.

Meant for

Cookie Clicker always kills my sound if I don't play it muted. Something about it just overloads everything.

It's kinda fun once you get into it. Figuring out optimal setups to maximize your odds of getting new plants is a surprisingly interesting mechanic.

Even the most idle activities in Runescape still require interaction at least every 10 minutes, and 98% need at least once a minute. It's not a true idle. Game
