Never really got hyped after dream drop distance revealed how messy it would be

People long term invested in the story. If you got into Kingdom Hearts at the age of 10, and got into KH2 when it came out, then a lot of fans are kind of locked in for the ride at this point. Not helped by the fact Nomura keeps leaving gaping questions everywhere. The Disney was just to get you hooked as a kid.

This was me. I got hyped and played all the games until DDD. Got out of it saw KH3 and thought hey that's cool. Preorderered the Collectors Edition and dropped it after Monster's Inc. it was kinda boring ngl. The charm's gone and I think replacing drives with BBS system is a huge fucking mistake.

It's retarded in a way that endlessly amuses me. Sephiroth talking to Donald and Goofy, let alone being in the same game as Winnie the Pooh, is the greatest accomplishment of this industry. Goku in Smash wouldn't even compare.

And for that reasoning there is exactly why it's been able to survive since 2002 complete Insanity of the series and everything behind it. I'll never forget a few years ago my friend saw Mickey in an organization coat and he just burst out laughing uncontrollably and said it was the stupidest thing he's ever seen then proceeded to buy the entire series and is still a fan to this day.

You either embrace Kingdom Hearts and it's absolute Madness or you sit there and call it convoluted anime trash. Insulting Kingdom Hearts just makes the series and its fans stronger.

It's convoluted as hell and if you come into the ride now, you have some fucking homework on your plate. It's not as hard to grasp as everyone says it is though, you just need to understand how physics work in the KH universe:

KH runs on light and darkness. You need light and darkness for things to be and do. Both light and darkness can do anything the plot calls for. Sora magically reappears with his friends? Dead person is... suddenly alive again? Mickey being a complete fucking jobber? It's either light or darkness' fault ultimately. No need to question it because the rules don't really run deeper than that. Except for Mickey jobbing because he's a fag.
