Which one of these companies will save Japanese games in the next decade?
Which one of these companies will save Japanese games in the next decade?
Isn’t it obvious?
Sony
Monolith has the best opportunity. Platinum and From are doing their best to ruin it.
bump
Explain your reasoning then.
Microsoft
>Monolithsoft is owned by Nintendo, so no multi-plat
>Platinum haven’t put out anything in a while and are “working hard” on Bayo 3
My bets are on From and Atlus if we’re talking multi-plat
japanese games don't need saving - especially by terrible studios like monolith, platinum and nu-fromsoft.
Monolith, Fatlus, and Platinum.
Definitely not fucking Atlus.
Platinum is already dead.
From will forever be forced to make nothing but Souls-likes.
Atlus will bumble along accidentally releasing random Persona games that sell very well.
And Monolith will at least help Nintendo games be more technically impressive I guess.
What if they all worked together on a super game?
Platinum is hanging on by a thread. Their only real hit since being founded was Nier: Autotomato. The rest of their games, including Bayonetta series were duds.
There was a thread yesterday on Platinum games and I explaind how they are on shaky ground, how Bayo 3 is in dev hell and might never release. Everyone denied it saying the series sold well, etc.
>Platinum
Project G.G
>Atlus
SMT V
>FromSoft
Elden Ring
>Monolith
???
Looks like it could be all 4 of them, with Monolith being the one most up in the air
But Sony is killing Japanese games.
>And Monolith will at least help Nintendo games be more technically impressive I guess.
lol
square enix
From.
SMT isn't mainstream. Platinum suck. Monolith is a literal who?
>monolith soft
XBC2 was fucking cringe
>atlus
Purse owner sucks, SMT is vaporware
>platinum
Compromised by chinese investors
>from software
ah yes lets reskin demon souls for the twentieth time
Certainly not atlus because they have become far too jewish for my liking.
Monolith could pull it off now that Xenoblade is popular and they're on Nintendo's payroll. With Atlus' track record I wouldn't be surprised if they don't release a single new game in the next decade. With Platinum making the decision to self-publish, I could see them either seeing success, or crashing and burning completely. From won't save Japanese games because they've been making basically the same game since Demon Souls and will do so until the end of time.
>reeree
>SMT V
Goty 2056
I just realize atlus did not develop one ps4 game this gen. Most of their games were ports from other systems.
Royal couldn’t run on a ps3
Royal being a slightly touched-up PS3 game does not automatically make it a PS4 game retard, it's still ported from PS3.
Still looks far better than most other non AAA tier Nintendo games though.
Have you seen FE:TH? That game legitimately looks like a PS2/Wii tier game, I honestly think the Tellius games look better then them.
Yeah but technically it's base of a ps3 game.
MGR was a hit too
Of all those Monolith Soft is the one most 'on the rise'.
MonolithSoft most likely.
Atlus is like an old man, it takes an eternity to bring something cool out and they barely listen or forget.
Fromsoft is doing alright
From what I've heard Platinum barely keeps themselves afloat.
Platinum obviously? I can't wait for their next 7 hours of cutscenes 30 fps HYYYYPEEEE action game.
Are there any other companies that could fit in here? I don’t think so
Nier sold more than Persona 5 didn't it?
Platinum can't seem to get a steady IP with really broad appeal though, they're too dependent on others. Persona has the more widespread anime appeal and Atlus can leverage that in different ways.
Monolith is stuck under Nintendo which means they'll be limited by them and From is just doing their own Souls thing, which only helps them.
Atlus has the best chance if they decide to actually make something. But the real answer is and always will be Capcom. Capcom always knows best. Pragmata is just a stopgap game. They're just getting familiar with the hardware. Capcom will make a cool game with an anime and shirts and tits.
kill me now
Another major competitor I could see rising back up is Square Enix, so long as they manage to get FFVIIR out the door in a reasonable amount of time and don't drag it out all gen.
