What makes it so hard to emulate Zig Forums?? It's almost 19 years old and there isn't a working emulator yet

you would think that now that the source code got leaked something would have happened but no
here you go bro
There's just not a big enough scene for it. Not all emulators are equal.
Dolphin is a pretty good emulator, PCSX2 is a pretty bad emulator. Really just depends who's working on the problem, and unfortunately, there aren't a lot of people working on this one.
I mean why?
Why would you emulate a console which had all games ported to PC
every time
>only on xbox
>PCSX2 is a pretty bad emulator
Really sick of hearing this. Majority of games run without issue, so long as you switch between software/hardware mode appropriately. Shit was updated to the new version like a month ago.
Just buy one and hack it, the thing has less than 10 games worth playing that weren't on other platforms anyways so you could burn through its relevant library in a a month or two for like $40.
>Majority of games run without issue,
This is not what makes an emulator good or bad. It's accuracy. PCSX2 is inaccurate as fuck.
All because the P3 based x86 chip is very well documented dosn't mean that the GPU, sound chips (there was more then one implementation), or the video encoders (which is a shit show of a subject) have ANY documentation at all.
Will SeX have BC for this thing?
Let me guess, you're one of those retards that think Dolphin is accurate?
Any OG game supported by the 360/Xbox One will be supported.
All the good exclusives aren't on PC and rightfully so cause PC's shit for gaming
Could you elaborate? What do you mean by innaccurate? I owned (and still do, obviously) a fuckload of PS2 games as a kid, and after emulating them, they play exactly the fucking same, minus a few minor isues with a few titles. Most are identical to how I experienced them as a child. No major glitches or whatever. I'm not sure what you mean by "inaccurate".
ok retard
SeX supports all the 360 and Original Xbox games that the Xbox One does. Whether or not Microsoft will continue to expand that list is up in the air.
No one cares, people only care about Nintendo games, that's why they try to make emulators working and their biggest games too asap on PC, that's why Dolphin, Cemu, Yuzu and Citra exist, no one cares about Xbox and not many people care about Playstation either. It's just a lack of interest, not lack of resources.
Dolphin is easily the most accurate post 5th generation console emulator.
It's the capacity to replicate the game as it was on the console.
They haven't even figured out how to make a game-by-game cfg system. CEMU, Citra, Dolphin, even RPCS3 have managed it. PCSX2 is just about serviceable, but it's not very good.
>It's the capacity to replicate the game as it was on the console
Well then, I don't know what to tell you. Like I said, the vast majority of the titles I tried work perfectly on it, and those that do fuck up a bit can either be fixed, or the issues are extremely minor. Some games are completely fucked and don't work at all, or have big issues, but that's a minority.
>Dolphin is easily the most accurate post 5th generation console emulator.
Not even close. Dolphin is extremely optimized with a tremendous amount of hacks for popular titles. All because Smash Bros runs 1:1 does not mean that the emulation core as a whole is actuate by anymeans. I'm not even saying PCSX2 isn't full of hacks it self, but to pretend that Dolphin is otherwise exposes how little you know about whats going on under the hood.
Which emulator, post 5th generation, is more accurate than Dolphin? I'll wait.
>Like I said, the vast majority of the titles I tried work perfectly on it, and those that do fuck up a bit can either be fixed, or the issues are extremely minor.
Likelihood is, you just aren't noticing it; there's even weird jank around how the emulator handles animations.
SeX will have full backwards compatibility with Xbox One. Xbox One's BC is an Xbone app of a 360 or OG Xbox game that you buy from the store, or it's automatically downloaded when you put in the disc which acts as the license key. All those Xbox One apps will work on the SeX but there isn't any additional stuff you can't already play on the Xbone.
>Which emulator, post 5th generation, is more accurate than Dolphin? I'll wait.
PCSX2.
I know you'll bitch up and down it isn't, but as long as you run it with the software renderer core, it implements sinifigently less hacks then Dolphin does. Most of people's bitching about PCSX2 is because they want to run games at 1080p on a GPU that dosn't resemble anything like what we know on PC. The Gamecube's GPU on the otherhand does have the benefit of being a (mostly) off the shelf ATI GPU that had an amount of public documentation and does have Dx+OpenGL pathlines (although the Gamecube used a separate graphical API).
PCSX2 can run to completion most all PS2 games 99%+, Dolphin is not close to that at all.
>only 14 perfect games
I HURT MYSELF
TODAY
When was the last time you tried the emulator? It got a major update recently.
The only issues those "playable" games even have most of the time is something ridiculously small, like a shadow flicker or something in one specific area of the game.
I don't know how anyone can pretend PCSX2 is better than Dolphin. It's very clearly not. It's a serviceable emulator that is ok for getting to play some old games, but it's not ideal. It's not the festering shit it used to be, but it's in a permanent state of 'not quite there yet'.
None of the emulators beyond 5th gen are perfect. They all have some jank, which shouldn't be a surprise given they're a lot more complicated than the SNES. It's obvious that emulators like CEMU have progressed much faster than PCSX2, and have incorporated some very useful features that PCSX2 still lacks (such as per game configs).
>The only issues those "playable" games even have most of the time is something ridiculously small, like a shadow flicker or something in one specific area of the game.
Most of those games haven't even been retested on newer versions or do stupid shit like using the hardware renderer.
The problem is most people talking about PCSX2 from their experience trying it 5 years ago. Again, a big update came out recently, and performance is drastically improved once more.
Some games fuck up, but seriously, most are fine and you'd be hard pressed to see any issues in most cases. Keyword being most.
I've used 1.6, and it still had issues with the games I played (4 Ratchet and Clank games, Red Dead Revolver); none of the games ran sufficiently in software mode with 16 threads (i9 9900k) or in hardware mode.
lol after all this time PS2 emulation hasn't even reached Nesticle's accuracy level of "most casual players can't tell the difference". Good thing PS2's are easy to softmod, we're gonna be using original hardware for a long time.
