Original art isn't great, but arts art. Better than Yan Sim because their artist traces like 90% of their "work".

This genre is fucked. If Alex was smart even a rushed demo project would have been satisfactory years ago, and then he could rake in the addtional money from kickstarter and patreon to fund his lifestyle, hire a small team and have them work on the game while he "oversee", and be set while continuing to capitalize on the popular trend.
Now he's outed as an autistic retard, and while there's probably nothing inherently wrong about that, he allows it to interfere with his workflow and crippled his production. He's had multiple outs and solutions to solve this but he continues to double down. YanSim will never properly release for another decade and he's definitely content with that.
You also can't get hopeful for Lovesick/Love Letter. The dev might be fine now but from the get go he shouldn't have given Alex any time of the day and let him fester in his own shitpile. And now there's a trans(?) working as the artist for the main character. That's also not inherently bad as long as she doesn't push her bullshit into the game and doesn't self insert, but the screenshots of the Love Letter posted so far do not paint a good picture, and when the project eventually gets into its first controversy, trolls are gonna ignite the flame and the snowflakes within that server will tear the project down themselves.
There are no winners here, Just the losers who continue to fund Alex's autism and getting hopeful for Love Letter.
