Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

So let me get this straight.
A muslim woman was a viking warrior in the past? These faggots are getting out of control.
I'm not even Scandinavian and this shit bothers me.

Many a spy boy through his ancestors genes away.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Nah the lady takes corpse parts and puts them in her animus

Who knows, Desmond was related to a native American, an Italian and a Syrian

it just fiction for retards AC stoped being good after the second game

I'd be more annoyed by the blatant reskin of Odyssey that this game seems to be. I mean after watching the gameplay reveal even the damn menus are EXACTLY the same. They literally put no effort into this game whatsoever. That being said it's Ubisoft so I'm not overly surprised.

Havent played any AC game since 3. I had no idea they call of duty'd this franchise.

they've been making yearly releases since AC II. Occasionally you'll hear a story about how the team have taken a year off to 'get back to the roots' of the series, but whatever they release becomes the new baseline that its sequels are copied from.

It seems pretty different gameplay wise to Odyssey. Plus no massive world map now

What are you on about?

they lady made a new portable animus that can syphon dna off of artifacts PLAY THE GAMES OR STOP COMPLAINING

quintessential mutt

>play the male
problem solved

also, music's good

The skill system is the same but it looks like adrenaline was reworked, it looks like items are back to how Origins had them except you can temper them this time (I.E. the stuff you pick up isn't random stats anymore, it's fixed stats and they're all set items, not randomized), and they've already said they're bringing back social stealth and insta-kill Hidden Blade stuff so it's a step in the right direction. To me it looks more like Origins with the Odyssey skill system bolted on.

You clearly dont know how lineages work. Did you know boris johnson, the PM of UK, is related to the founder of Turkey? That was only a hundred years back, let alone thousands of years ago, which the game is set in.

AC stopped being good after release. An assassin game set during the crusades? No. A cinematic counterattack-based melee combat game with a sci-fi story gimmick that exists only to justify the existence interface and game design.

>retard on Zig Forums doesn't understand genetics
Another shocker

Still want a return to the actual creed. Don't get me wrong the last couple of games have been cool historical games but I want more of the creed vs templar shit. Not just touching bases with it every now and again. Shit I'd like to see a sequel to Altair's story maybe. The first game was great but imagine the RPG elements they use now being applied to the an even bigger Holy Land. Would be epic.

honestly this would be great. if they really wanted this series to be political, they should have a game set smack in the middle of one of the crusades

AC peaked with Unity. I know it was janky but the gameplay was its best if you overlook the bugs.

>playing a male with a woman's name
what does that solve exactly?

Exactly. At least then you can approach it in a more meaningful way instead of all this pandering bullshit

Courtney in LA Noire was the baddest motherfucker around

I'm with you on that. Odyssey was alright but it wasn't an AC game, and Origins tried to at least keep to what made AC, well, AC but it had the RPG stuff interfering with that paired with a toning back on social stealth.

In my opinion I think that they saw the very positive reception to Unity now which is why Guillermot had to address it so I think they realize people prefer what the old AC was doing they just want it more polished and that's what they're trying to do now. Just look at how all of Valhalla's features are specifying stuff that was in the old AC games and pushing them forward along with things like the ships, raiding, and homestead. They at least get that people want a return to form and hopefully it's shown in the game itself. I really just want more Templar vs. Assassin ideological battles. The best parts of these games is pitting their philosophies and arguing them in a never-ending war instead of just running around doing stuff in a historical period. The conspiracy is one of the best parts for me personally.

Unity had a lot of interesting elements.

>combat that had weight to it, and shooters were actually dangerous
>every single quest, including sidequests and even co-op missions had stories attached to them. Even the co-ops had voiced video introductions
>one of the busiest cities in gaming, with literal crowds of hundreds of people in some places. People being dragged through the streets, houses looted etc.
>scavenger hunt puzzles were actual puzzles and required some thinking

Shame they went back to copy pasting with Syndicate.

I unironically like the RPG in AC.

Honestly I wish they would go even further with it. The half-assed stuff we have right now is pretty bad.

Don't forget the murder mysteries that involved tons of areas surrounding the murder location and each one was pretty long.
For me the Enigmas felt way too cryptic most of the time even if you were looking at the map and reading the databases on top of having tons of steps in each one just to get the piece you needed. Suger's stuff was at least contained to a smaller area with less steps but it was still cryptic as hell if you weren't directly studying the database religiously.

I miss the online gameplay of AC: brotherhood

Its a welcome change IMO. The game was really about ancient, advanced civs from the start and they are only NOW doubling down on that aspect of the lore by introducing the "gods" or the other mythical bs. AC was always about sci-fi stories set in real-world history.
