They won't. Intelligent Systems will always try new things and never return to 2D/3D, stickers or color again, that includes both the first games.

i don't mind them changing things up, but they've been sticking with the sticker star formula for a while, and i think another title in this style would honestly be tiring.
i don't think the same can be said about the original formula, since it was only for 2 games.

There's a stupid amount of attention to tiny little details, and then you look at the big picture and 99% of the colorful characters full of personality you're having fun interactions with are almost identical Toads. It feels like extremely skewed priorities.

Super Paper Mario is objectively worse than TOK

TTYD > TOK > SPM

I've 100%'d all of them. TOK is the best after the first two, and the gap is only there because they're still making some retarded design choices for no good reason. There are other elements like level design where TOK is outright the best, but they have to coexist with stuff like the mostly pointless regular battles that drag the overall quality down.

I would genuinely be far more interested in Origami King if they forwent the "RPG" mechanics altogether and just made the game purely about overworld combat.
