Besides, I think it does some in handy on occasion. For example, games like roguelikes may feature octodirectional movement and numpad is more comfortable than vi keys or other alternatives, or I've seen it being used for stuff like inventories (like WC3, which isn't necessarily ideal setup at least in this case, but it's what it is), and at the end of the day I do other things than just playing games and it is highly useful for inputting numbers.

I also play games with left hand on the mouse and right hand on WASD
