Naughty Dog are incredibly bold developers. I feel a bit spoiled by TLOU Part II because I know no game is going to hold a candle to it right now. I've definitely heard about people playing Ghost after coming off TLOU Part II and are just noticing a chasm in quality. Not to say Ghost is bad, but ND games are on another level and I'm really going to have a hard time going back to the usual, focus group tested mediocrity I've become accustomed to.

I was highly impressed with how well they pulled it all off. It wasn't perfect, but nothing is. It's something truly special, and I'm confident it will stand the test of time as one of the most memorable gaming experiences ever.
Same, I'm struggling to enjoy other serious/narrative games as much given the new reference point this has set. I've shifted for now to lighter games with a focus on mechanics, like Spelunky.

Imagine how shitty it would have been if Joel died some "heroic" death near the end of the game and we had to wait another 6 years for closure. By the end of the game I think most players have coped with Joel's death along with Ellie. It was a risky choice but it paid off. Playing ND games makes me wonder what the fuck other western devs have been doing

It still makes me feel bad how much people are still in denial over Joel's death, and they see TLOU2's story as "Joel dies > killer doesn't". I'm sure that if there wasn't any leak the game would have been received way better, if you look up for reviews on sites were you need to buy a product before reviewing it, you'll find a lot of honest views on the content, mostly positive, even the reviews that go as far down as 4 or 5/10
