These 2 games were the best 3D Mario games. Change my mind.
These 2 games were the best 3D Mario games. Change my mind
Never played them, so I wouldn't know how
You're right
you’re clearly a zoomer who played both of these when you were 8. They’re boring with terrible control “feel”, boring EPIC ORCHESTRA music, and even more boring levels. Here’s the part where you say
>actually I’m 29 LMAO
“No!”
>boring epic orchestra
how can you have such shit taste?
i get not liking the controls, but the music? the fuck is wrong with you
Calling someone a zoomer for having nostalgia on newer games doesn't justify your nostalgia on SM64
the music was tacky and felt the same for every single level. Just generic sweeping EPIC SPACE orchestra bullshit. I haven’t played a Mario game in like 6 years, besides Odyssey, and I can hum the delfino plaza music, I can’t recall a single track from galaxy. I never even played 2 because the firsts one was such shit
>calling someone a zoomer while typing like one
UR MR GAY
what did they mean by this?
I didn’t even like SM64 but to say galaxy is the BEST is objectively wrong and is usually only backed by nostalgia
ok ignore the buzzwords and the way I worded certain things, my point still stands. Galaxy, in my opinion, had the worst controls and gimmick (waggle the remote to collect stars) compared to say FLUDD or Cappy. He also felt way too fucking floaty compared to the other 3D Marios. Level design was really, really boring. No memorable or stand out worlds to be seen. And lastly, like I said, the music is very bland. Just generic, epic, sweeping, orchestra pieces that all sounded the same and blended together. Maybe 2 was better but I’ll never know because 1 turned me off so badly
I'm not changing your mind cuz you're right. It's the best level design Mario's ever had. Only thing the others have over these two is better movement but that peaked at sunshine.
how is the level design the best in galaxy? Every level was the same random floating platforms over an infinite sky box
except it is objectively the best.
Only played galaxy one but really excited for the remasters to give galaxy 2 a go
Tbh it might just be nostalgia but I remember enjoying most levels in the game quite a lot. I also think that the general platforming is better and more creative than most of the other Marios
>worse gimmick than jetpack
jesus christ
it's a platformer scott
>boring EPIC ORCHESTRA music
Did you not get past Good Egg?

I fucking hate Zig Forums, why do I even come here? Filled with zoomers who try to be "edgy" by being contrarian.
>DKC2 isn’t a platformer because you can float with Dixie
that’s what you sound like. Even if you remove FLUDD, Mario still controls and “feels” tighter than he does in Galaxy. I get it’s probably intentional because of space but it just feels like shit
Owning both soundtracks on CD, I can safely say that there is nowhere near enough orchestral music. A good 70-80% of the soundtrack is generic midi-tier
>opinions that aren’t the same as mine are edgy and contrarian
based beehivemind
Is there a way to play them without the gay ass motion controls???
They didn't have nearly as much soul as Sunshine. There's something about a level where people and creatures live actually LOOKING like people and creatures live there that screams soul. Galaxy felt like a big blah.
I always say I prefer Sunshine to all 3D Marios because of the world. Rather than “levels” the “levels” felt like extensions of the natural world rather than just theme park levels like “fire world” “desert world” “underwater world” “sewer world” etc
>that’s what you sound like.
oh cramp it georgia
you shouldn't get a fudge your jumps machine in a 3d platformer
sm64 is such a better game
This is true, but I still respect Galaxy fans.
3D Land/World apologists are the true fucking cancer.
But now we have Odyssey which is the best Mario platformer ever made so all is well.
Galaxy 2 is a significantly better game. I would say it's at least 3 points higher on a 10-scale.
Galaxy 1 has garbage powerups that are mostly timed or very very situational and unfun. Spring Mario was a clusterfuck and Boo Mario didn't even need to exist. Bee Mario feels tacked-on and controls like it's from a shitty third-party knockoff collectathon.
Galaxy 2 has Cloud Mario, which is usable in many levels, offers a greater degree of freedom, and feels well integrated. Galaxy 2's more situational powerups like Boulder Mario or the Spin Drill are generally more fun than Galaxy 1's, and again, aren't timed.
In Galaxy 1 the reward for getting all stars is...having to do it all over again. In Galaxy 2 you unlock Green Stars hidden around levels which are actually fun to go back and hunt down. Galaxy 2 also generally has more interestingly designed levels which facilitates the hiding of Green Stars.
I feel like the only people who complain about FLUDD being a crutch aren’t using it correctly. If you NEEDED FLUDD to time your jumps you really suck
super mario galaxy 2 on acid was... whew
