The original Catherine is great. Don't play Full Body, it doesn't even miss the point of the original game's story so much as completely dismiss it in favour of the people who looked at the game and went "haha big boobis go boing"

Played and enjoyed P3 and 4 on PS2 when they came out, and absolutely adored Catherine. Playing it during the early years of my first relationship really made me think deep about my desires and life goals, and later on taught me a lot about my soon-to-be-wife partner.

The OG Catherine is an excellent game unlike anything else. The FB is all around inferior take on it, and should not be anyone's first touch on the IP.

It's not a Persona game. It's a puzzle game with a romance story backdrop. That being said I enjoyed Catherine Classic. Don't bother with Full Body. Rin is as shoehorned as Marie in Golden and her route sucks anyway.

There's "persona references" in the stock Catherine already, and Joker is only for the tacked-on 2-player versus mode that has nothing to do with the main campaign - which is also the meat and bone of Catherine.

I'm aware it's not a Persona game but the similarities are more than obvious, same devs, same engine same looking character models as P5 so I'm asking if the social stuff was enjoyed by people who enjoyed the social stuff in Persona

I owned Catherine on the 360 and bought Full Body on PS4 when it came out. If you really like Rin and what she may have to offer than go full body but if you don't care about her save your money and buy Classic

Yes it's fucking true. The original is about Vincent being unwilling to take responsibility in his relationship, and you either guide him to change or blow off all responsibility and become a lecherous bum.
Full Body adds alternate endings for both K and C that completely go against this, and adds an actual alien twink to the mix. The atmosphere is completely supplanted as well.

I'm a multi-way idort. Got dozens of consoles + a fine PC, and legit got a Steelbox version of Full Body just a couple months back, since I loved the original on PS3.
I've already written lengthy rants about why FB was a big disappointment, you can check it out in pic related if you want (minor spoilers ahoy).

Just play Classic. Saves you money, and you get the better overall experience.

P4G had the exact same problems where it kind of shat on the tone of the original and a lot of the added stuff was fluff and some characters were flanderized but it was still the better game. I assume Full Body is mechanically (as a game) better than the original right? You just have grievances with story changes?

Catherine is really good. Pretty mature imo. Rin is definitely shoehorned in in FB, it's not just shitposting, but it's easy enough ignore her. I wish they added a "classic mode" or something that disables all the new content, but I digress. Still a good game

I've played both and I like full body more, but I don't think people are wrong in saying that the theme is better presented in the original. Full Body actually works more when someone is familiar with the original story. It's a different kind of story almost I have a twink boyfriend though

Good eye user, I'm OP and that wasn't me. I don't even own a Switch. It's either going to be Full Body on PS4 or Classic on PC for me and I appreciate all of the opinions so far.

It's still a good, if not more casual puzzle game. But it takes a huge steaming shit on the story.
