Why does every SRPG ape Final Fantasy Tactics instead of the superior Fire Emblem?

>ape

N-Nani !!?

fuuju hime played like fire emblem so that was great

>Superior Fire Emblem
>more classes but almost no abilities other than attack shit
>no elevation
>only weapons equipped, not anything else
I could go on, but why bother?

because fire emblem games are still being made, while FFT is dead forever

Why does every Fire Emblem retard think their beginner baby SRPG is superior? There's a reason it sells well, and that's because it's designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator, at the cost of any substance or quality.

Top down > isometric camera, directional and elevation based mechanics don't really contribute to anything other than being annoying.

Good job Nintendo for being not creatively bankrupt.

Instead of Enix who couldn't be bothered to invest on their IPs unless they have a feeling it would make 1,337,420,690 billion yen.

Why did Advance Wars die when it was strictly better than the GBA and DS FE games in every way?

This. Rock/paper/scissors, using Attack (maybe occasionally using Magic) isn't strategy or tactics at all.

Phantom Brave is better.

I know one that doesn't

maybe if you played a real SRPG you'd realize otherwise

pizza cutter is not substance or quality
FFT is pathetically easy to break open even by children playing for the first time, the current status of the franchise is greedy GUMI gacha shit which doesn't make it any better than fire emblem in that regard

Not enough waifus and the developers weren't sure how to get you to romance a tank. So they shelved it and went with the cashcow that became the FE titles.

They're both inferior to Tactics Ogre.

FF tactics apes ogre battle.

That's not how FE really plays out though, usually the strongest characters flatten everything regardless of the weapon triangle.

>Instead of the superior Advanced Wars
Ftfy

t. never played FE

Fire emblem has less systems and is more streamlined, so the games have to be tight or itsf laws are very obvious ie awakening. With a tactics stye you can hide flaws easier.

>Play Langrisser
>Fuckhuge numbers
>Have no idea how to calculate anything
>It doesn't matter because mercenaries are expendable
It took me a few maps to get into it, but it's not bad.

Advance wars is a strategy game, not tactics.

whats the fucking difference?

In video games, strategy involves tactics + gathering of resources and their expenditure, normally in the generation of new units. This usually goes hand in hand with the existence of certain static structural units (buildings) which you may or not be able to build yourself, which allow you to spend those resources.
For example:
Myth: real time tactics
Starcraft: real time strategy
The meanings of tactics and strategy in video games aren't 100% analogous to those of real life.
It's not always clear if a game crosses the boundaries of tactics into strategy or not, and to a certain point it could be argued it's a matter of opinion. But I think most people consider capturing cities and factories and training units in AW to make it a strategy game.

What's that game again? Oppression of the Slimes or something?

>no elevation
Radiant Dawn had elevation. I'm still mad they never brought it back.

I prefer FFT, though.

Ambition of the slimes,a game that may or may not be a possession fetish game

>directional and elevation based mechanics don't really contribute to anything other than being annoying
Yeah. It'd be nice if they were more than a better/worse chance to hit. Something more interesting, like I dunno, higher elevation gives you more visibility if there's fog of war.

FE is much harder to balance than FFT

Devs aren't so retarded as to think FE has a gameplay structure even remotely as good as Tactics Ogre/FFT's
