Why is Persona 5 so much more popular than its predecessors?
Why is Persona 5 so much more popular than its predecessors?
because its the best in the series
brand and normalfag appeal
Normalfags watched some faggot let's player. So they decided to jump on the Persona bandwagon.
predict nocturne and SMT5 sales
Mounting interest from the P4 time, remarkable style making an impression on people, or something like that
Last main Persona game was in 2008. Since 2009 up to 2017, anime became part of normalfaggotry
Best graphics.
>Nocturne
200k-300k
>SMT5
700k-800k
It's prettier, has some bopping music that went viral, and finally brought a big new name to the table after an era of countless P4 spin-offs. Persona 4 was already super popular, and people had been hoping for something new on a next gen console for ages.
because the population of the planet grows exponentially
in all ways except narrative yeah.
Uh, industry is booming now. Having MM sales is not really as impressive as 10 years ago
>seething SMT baby
Face it. Your series is cancelled.
Waifus, gameplay is dumbed down and accessible for more players, the game practically plays itself due to the calendar system, and it's more style over substance compared to mainline and other megaten spin-offs.
All Persona stories suck ass so it doesn't matter
you fucking dumbass, you can say the same about all persona games since 3.
I'll be honest, I'm a Persona 5 nigger, who had never played an SMT series game. It's just a good alternative to Final Fantasy, because they're shit right now.
Oh, I thought OP asked why Persona the series is more popular than its predecessor
Thematically speaking SMT would be a better FF alternative
The same could be said about the Fallout series after 3 as well. What a coincidence.
is he died
Because all the people who used to make fun of weebs back in the day are buying anime shit in droves now that it's popular.
Baby's first Persona.
>nocturne
300k
>SMT 5
1 million
New player here, is dying in this game glitched in some way? I just died and returned to my last safe room it seemed like I had more SP/items than I did when I entered it. Might just be me not keeping track of shit though
Ironic weebs are much more common these days.
Isn't obvious? I mean, you make a game and no one knows about it, so you have to struggle to gain the attention of the public wishing someone notices and buys it. Game ends up being appreciated by a small niche audience who will now buy all your games expecting the same level of quality. Release a sequel or spinoff, you're no longer at 0, you already have a small but loyal fanbase who will buy your game and a new potential market who will wonder why this neckbeards are buying the wird game with demons on the cover. Release third game, you have your niche neckbeard fanbase and some casuals who somehow ended up playing it because it looks like final fantasy or whatever. Keep repeating this cycle and both your niche neckbeard fanbase and your casual audience keep increasing, every iteration keeps getting bigger as you keep accumulating fans and your neckbeard fanbase is now working and will buy your games regardless of the content and just keep as collectibles, the casual audience will keep growing organically as the game seems to be worth rehashing with new iterations and the latest game should be superior to the previous titles.
Baby's first JRPG is more like it.
Aren't they the same person? Why are they doing that kinda stuff? Why is Justine touching Caroline like that?
Probably you not keeping track.
Every time a copy of this game is sold I hate it that much more.
Persona 4 prepped up the brand
Zoomers on the internet love anime and the game's draw is basically being able to live in anime
Released during the period where the PS4 was really alive and a stream of japanese titles came out one after the other.
Perfect storm and a silent untapped zoomer audience and casuals who never play RPG's were drawn to it and its style.
Drought for ''original'' games
joker in smash
persona 4 making the ip less niche
It's both on ps3 and ps4
Better interface appeal
This. The PS2 persona and SMT games like like glorified dreamcast games.
>Nocturne
On Switch probably 0.5-.6
>V
1 million
I think anime is just more mainstream now. Also since the game got popular it just continued getting more popular, it was exposed to higher and higher amounts of normies
Using the retarded logic of console warriors trying to extrapolate that from the Youtube trailer's views, V will sell around 800-900k
Don’t you touch yourself?
This except on story.
Its eye-catching style and presentation
I think V will do better than most people think. Its better for sales that the game had some sort of controversy. Zoomers REEE'ing that it wasn't Persona or Mario after the direct brought more non-retarded people's attention to it. The Switch is also an insanely popular console that's going through a bit of a drought. I'm guessing at least 1 million in sales.
So we know from Lavenza that Velvet Room Attendants sleep.
Do Caroline and Justine sleep in the same bed? Do they bathe together? This is Anonymous from Zig Forums, asking all the important questions.
It built upon the success of P4 and P4G
Its actually very simple. Japanese culture, anime, and weebshit has gotten immensely more popular over the last 10 decade.
JRPG's and visual novels were niche shit that very little people in the west played.
Basically, Persona 5 was the first Persona that released after everybody became a weeb.
Unique style 3 and 4 also have non existent level design
That's Pokemon, any answer other than that is just lying to yourself
More people play games that aren't "casual" now.
Why it sells better than previous Persona games would just be a snowball effect of fans who got into the series with an earlier game would buy it while it also gets many new fans buying it as well. Joker in Smash probably helped a lot too. Why it sells better than mainline SMT would simply be because it's really just a casualized SMT with a few features that appeal to a more mainstream audience. the mainstream is a way bigger market than the niche audience of "harcore gamers." We also see a huge boom of growth as soon as Fire Emblem started to take a more casual route as well. I would also bet that if Fromsoft released a game that was just Dark Souls but really easy and low learning curve, the current fanbase would hate it but it would be the best selling entry by far. It's really smart of Atlus to just make the casualized games a separate subseries so that we can get both the niche games and the mainstream games.
This Knowledge of P4 already broken into the weeb mainstream, if you went to cons, in that sort of social media crowds or talk about JRPGs you were exposed to the series. But it takes the next one coming out for the effect to be felt, people want to bandwagon not play some old game. With ironic weebs being so much bigger and Persona having a certain not like the other girls label (in terms of it does everything other Japanese media does but gets a free pass) the game was all set for success.
Sony always wins, baby
it released on a current gen console. also acid jazz.
normalfaggotry and it was the first to go mainstream.
