>have to waste time shooting at the dragon tail
>starts to drop off when you get to sen's. arguably even earlier.
>or you could just run to the graveyard in the hub world and get a weapon that is stronger and lasts the entire game
nice normal mode bro, but check out THIS easy mode.

Or you could just max faith and get lightning bolts that rape everything

drake sword is better early and zwei scales better. journos are more likely to just beat the first couple of bosses than play the entire game

This thing saved me against Capra Demon the first time

Drake sword is honestly hot garbage past the early game. Actual ez mode is getting lucky with a black knight weapon drop.

Looking back, why the fuck was this piece of shit ever popular, you can get the claymore for much less effort and have one of the best thrusting straight swords in the game.
And if you wanted to break the game wide open just go get a Black Knight Halberd and have the game practically played for you.

This really is easy mode, hands down.
Pike is hard mode early on.
Requires investment everywhere for like no damage to anyone.

Posting Drakekeeper's Warpick every darksouls thread until someone responds saying they've ever in their life used it and tells me if they liked it or not

people didnt truly understand the upgrade and scaling mechanics back then. Also it is a bit overwhelming for a new player to learn those mechanics. So when they hear that they can get a powerful sword to dominate the early game, why wouldnt they?

>last your entire run

I used because I like warpicks, warhammers, that kind of stuff. I remember really liking it but not bothering all that much with it because you get it quite late and I never did NG+ runs.

I got all I need g

I mean, Ashen Mist Heart is about 50% through the game, right? If you count DLC that is.
I love the weapon but it drives me crazy when visually the hammer nailed the enemy in the fucking dick, but you still do half-damage.

For me, it's the SL 6 Gravelord Sword.

>the hammer nailed the enemy in the fucking dick, but you still do half-damage.
I was initially going to say I vaguely remember the warpick having the same property as the Kirkhammer from Bloodborne where there is a "sweet spot" you have to hit for maximum damage, but then I thought I misremembered. If it actually does have that, it's another reason I didn't bother much because I fucking hate that mechanic so much when regular swords/everything else can just play normally.
And yeah I guess I could've used it for DLC, but I ended up using the Greatsword on the character I did the DLC with.

>tfw camping undead burg with this thing when PC launched
Tears were had.

zwei overhead 2hander staggers better and at +5 or higher will just flatten most normal enemies to the ground, shit's op

For me, It's Quelana.

Attached: quelana1.jpg (683x1024, 167.74K)

Yeah it's got the sweetspot. It's frustrating as fuck, but when you do line it up perfectly for a 2h R2 and every swing lands just right you do like 2000+ damage even at only +5 and feel like a fucking Chad.

>mfw using warpick in das1 with Leo ring for the PHAT BONKS

I miss dinking people for 600+ dmg with that thing in pvp

Attached: a7d.jpg (304x593, 27.05K)

I really like the Shotel,
Priscilla's Dagger and the Lifehunt Scythe are cool too.

>started SL1 run in DS1
>only killed Goyles so far, and I already have 9 or 10 deaths (totač number of deaths in my DS2 SL1 run)
>found out I can't use Broadsword
>have to fight Coppa Demon
God damn it.

It is really fucking satisfying when you land it, that's for sure. Personally, I just found the amount of frustration high enough to put me off those weapons. It's a fucking shame as well because big hammers/picks/whatever are my favorite types of weapons as well. Love polearms but man that fucking sweet spot shit can go eat a dick.

Its ok no one will know if you cheese the capra demon

I'm just gonna post this image that I don't get to post anymore.

Attached: 21513475613.jpg (577x765, 65.54K)

Nah, I only did some cheez on Dragonrider and Throne Watcher (fuck that, hardest fight in DS2 if you don't include DLC, no joke). Capra has some weird af hitboxes.

Reminder that the drake sword is shit, and a +5 battle axe is stronger than it and available as soon as you reach Andre.

The longsword in das1 is the weapon of chads. The perfect dueling weapon for PvP, it had the juiciest combos and was so versatile.

Getting the black knight halberd is entirely luck based. You could go the entire game without seeing one.

when i first played dark souls i wanted to be a noble knight so i spent most of my points in resistance and the rest into faith and fat rolled everywhere. needless to say i actually thought the game was difficult

ppl use drake sword until they hit spider bitch and then cry why is she so hard

>ds2

you have to leave

Chaos Reinforced Club called, says you forgot it in the catacombs. It's cool bro, just go get it.

Capra demon cheese strat actually involves killing him without even entering the boss room. The real boss is the dogs anyway capra himself is ez as fuck

It's harder to SL1 DS1 than DS2? Really? I never would have imagined since dodging in DS2 without agility investment is absolute shit. I had no issue with DS1 on SL1 once I got the elemental clubs happening. Even prior since strike is always OP. Only issue I had was The Kings since it's a DPS battle no matter what.

Dont give a fuck, BK Greataxe was fun as shit.

Zweihander is unironically better.
Zweihander has a massive range + easily staggers enemies.

1handed R2, crush everything into the ground.

>*unlocks based mode*

All you need to do vs Capra Demon is put on a shield, block the initial hits when you zone through the fog, run up the stairs and onto the platform next to the stairs. Kill the two dogs. Chug estus to full life. Switch to 2Hing your Weapon. Plunging attack onto Capra Demon for 1/3+ of his life, run back up the stairs and onto the platform, plunge attack him 2 more times and you're done. His AI takes forever to figure out how to get up the stairs when you're on that platform and will stand directly below you mostly not being able to hit you. You just have to watch for him to start to move a bit towards the stairs and plunge him.
