It's pretty weird how diverse the geography and climates you see in the games are when most of the continents fall under the tropical zone. On that note, is there any fictional setting where most of the world's landmass falls under the southern temperate zone sort of like how most of Earth's landmass is in Eurasia and North America?

I understand countries want to show their country at the center of a map, but Japan is basically putting ocean front and center. That's retarded. Show land where people actually live.

Something I've been thinking about but would people living on such a world acknowledge themselves to be on the southern hemisphere? I understand in early cartography and geology "up" was where the sun came from or east the way we define it, it just eventually changed. So what's stopping them from thinking that they're actually on the north hemisphere and the sun just rises in the west and sets in the east?
