Just got this for $15 in the ps winter sale
What am i in for?
Just got this for $15 in the ps winter sale
An alien and isolation, probably
I played that shit for 40 minutes without ever encountering the Alien. Dropped. I don't care what anyone says that's just shit. Literally nothing happened
>winter sale
I can't believe it's winter already
It took about 40 minutes for the alien to appear in the original movies you know
t. ADHD zoomer.
the game is long, you being 40min in with your first playthrough is probably 2-4% into the game if you had no alien encounter yet.
Imagine a big black penis trying to attack you.
>see alien
>hide in a locker
>alien goes away
>leave locker after one minute
>alien returns
>hide in a locker
>leave locker after five minutes
>alien returns
>repeat for over an hour
I stopped playing after that
I'm not interested in wasting hours running in a linear tube just so I can get a glimpse eventually.
Never watched it, but I assume something more interesting happened before that than a linear tube adventure.
Alien wont appear for an hour or so, but the game is pretty good afterwards
Solid 7.5 or 8/10 honestly. The mod that slightly alters the aliens behavior makes it really fun
Feels like only yesterday I was sweating my balls off.
>Never watched it
Then why did you play the game then?
Lmao is this what its like to be a cunt zoomer
>so I can get a glimpse eventually
>a glimpse
hahaha, shit will fucking hunt you down and circle you in all the time when it's out.
Also difficulty setting makes a difference.
It was less than 2€ on steam and seemed interesting as fuck.
Past the age where games can scare me, never found the xenomorph that scary (facerapers are worse), but I really enjoyed that game because it felt very immersive and the environment art was top-notch. A stroll through a perfect rendition of that '70s retro-futuristic setting, because the gameplay isn't that hard once you figure out the mechanics. I would love to see a sequel set in a shake n' bake colony like the one from Aliens; always thought that was a really cool set.
Thats how I played it until a realized I can just chase it away
Play a bit more
You will come back here and compain that the alien won’t leave you alone
Also you are a zoomer faggot
Another garbage game that gets hyped up similar to something like Condemned.
Best horror/stealth game I've ever played
go watch the movie
It's pretty grating for a while because the alien's AI is really aggressive and will non-stop patrol around wherever you are, and that combined with some questionable design choices (like lockers seeming to be nothing but death traps) could just outright turn you off of the game. If you stick through it though, you eventually get enough tools like the flamethrower and various throwables and then it makes sense why the AI is like that and the game works a lot better.
Have to play as a cunt, have to hide and run like a bitch, lame crafting, spoopy music, false sense of urgency.
Played through once and dumped, desu you are better off watching Pewdiepie playthrough. Graphics is pretty nice, to say one thing positive.
Prioritise Noise makers and Molotovs. Play on the hardest difficulty as it's easy AF otherwise.
A real passion project. Enjoy the environment. There are many little details that can amaze you.
As for actual tips and knowledge?
Trust your gut. If your gut tells you to take a section slow, and to walk, then listen to it, brother.
There is no need to backtrack to other sections that isn't the main quest, until the end of the game when you have everything unlocked. MOST of the main collectibles aren't unlockable until the end. (Specifically the special Logs).
That's basically it. Oh and, even if normally you may be averse to it in other games, play this on either Nightmare or the 2nd hardest difficulty at the LEAST.
Are there any cool mods for this?
Solid game. Really enjoyed the atmosphere in this sucker
Fantastic game and one of the most comfy, well-realized environments in the medium
