Switch legacy

Is anyone really going to remember this console fondly? It's all ports and remakes, even its headlining game is from the Wii U, and all the new games are consistently worse than average for their series.

>Is anyone really going to remember this console fondly

The Switch has already cultivated a legacy which will see the system fondly remembered for decades to come.

I mean, Animal Crossing New Horizons is still booming in popularity and has just as many active players as it had on day 1.

Are people really still playing it? I thought most of the fanbase burned out and then realized how shallow it is compared to past games

> implying anyone even owned a Wii U

BoTW may as well be brand new and that game alone will make the switch fondly remembered.

Yes, especially when it reaches end of life like the Vita and n3ds.

lol nah. Making stuff up to cope is pretty sad.

There have been a ton of popular posts on tw*tter and r*ddit about how it released unfinished and there's nothing to do

Vocal minorities on the internet don't account for as much as oversocialized retards think they do

Thats just nonsense lol. Animal Crossing doesn't unpack itself in a weekend. Dumb plebs never played an Animal Crossing game in their lives.

I'm still playing it, go on /vg/ during burgerhours and you will see lots of people still playing it.
Mind you, many people have been playing it less consistently, but AC in general is a game you keep dropping and picking up.
The ones who mainly stopped playing are coompleters who time travelled or hacked through the game. Also redditers who have their dreamies and all their 5-star island please pay 5 NMTs to look at my soulless island.

People remember the GBA fondly and it’s mostly ports and remakes

If you have twitter or are friends with any women, you will know that people are still playing the game to death.

It is factually missing a fuckton of features, but that doesn't matter to the bugmen and women who play that "game".

>and all the new games are consistently worse than average for their series
Maybe in your Zig Forums bubble but games like Breath of the Wild, Odyssey, Smash Ultimate and Three Houses are acclaimed as some of the best in their franchises.

man if you put half the effort you put into bitching about the switch into working, you might have been able to afford to buy one you poorfag

Just these alone will make me fondly remember my Switch OP so yeah there will be someone who'll fondly remember it.
Your thread is now finished with your question having been answered by me.

should I buy a switch? I haven't got one yet, is it too late?

Yes. It's a console that lets you play on the TV and as a handheld and it has a bunch of great new games and old favorites on it. Of course it's going to be remembered fondly.

That headlining game came out on both consoles at the same time. It's not like it was some old port.

I assume you have never played the past games...Theres more to do in this game daily than there ever was

Do people really try to charge people to look at their island?

No its sadly to late for you to get one. The expiration on buying one was exactly *checks watch* 61 days 2 hours and 31 minutes ago

Snoy can't cope LMAO

>Is anyone really going to remember this console fondly?
Probably.
Still waiting for a reason that justifies a purchase + a fix for the stick drift, not going to pay 300 for a defective product.

I made the mistake of buying a WiiU so I played most of the Switch's library already.

Like?

It's the next N64. Hardly has a library at all, but it'll be loved on nostalgia.

I wouldn't say its too late. The Switch is roughly half the way through its lifespan so still another 3 years left. At least if you got a Switch now you wouldn't be short on games to play and it would bide you over until the next new game announcements/release dates.

Hmm, thanks for the advice. I'll probably end up getting one.

>isn't just a knock off PC
>is Nintendo embracing what they're good at - handhelds
Why yes it will be remembered. How did you know?

Yes, retard, if only for it's functionality. Not to mention Wii U ports are new games to 95% of the Switch's audience.

Yeah... That's stupid but in this case arguing against it doesn't matter.

If you accept the Wii U as a failure - and it was, relatively - there is no argument for it's games NOT being ported to see proper life on a system people want to buy.

Either it matters that they were on Wii U or it matters that the Wii U was a failure. Only the latter of which is reasonable since 99.9999% of games on everything is ports.

No you won't, you won't be able to find one. Sorry user.

A better question, will anyone remember the PS4 or Xbone fondly? Both are just really low powered PCs that dont have any identity nor any proper selling point nowadays since both are dead systems.

Here are the famitsu sale numbers for the week just to traumatize OP even more
