>16k wishlists >Demo was played by 80k ppl >Translated into multiple langauges >Cheap price >Sold a total of only 357 copies, 178 of which were from the 16k wishlists
I think Tim Sweeney was right in what he said about Steam being a garbage dump, as games like this get buried.
Why didn't people buy 2435th indie platformer released in the same month? Well...
Henry Nelson
>wishlist game >try the demo >realize it's hot garbage >wtf why don't people buy my trash
William Peterson
>someone on Zig Forums saw the thread and bought this game just to be contrarian
Logan Baker
I don't think this is an interesting topic to continue discussing. Devs made a shit game. Expected to sell. Failed. The game is so boring they managed to disapoint 80 thousand people.
Liam Scott
Someone post the screenshots, it looks amazing
Carson Jenkins
If the game is shit, don't expect to make money without already having a name. If the game is good you will make money, just look at Little Witch Nobeta
I like how you made the bait even tastier by mentioning epic.
Luke Brooks
>$13 for a shitty pile of generic trash
fuck you for shilling this shit. i wouldn't even download that if it was in my steam library for free
Matthew Morales
I just needed to look at the trailer for 2 seconds to realize it's a floaty "VERY HARD HAHA" uninspired 2.5d platformer. The genre has been saturated since the 10's, goddamn it.
Adrian Myers
>game devs shouldn’t act like they’re entitled to money >I should be able to get every game in existence for free And this is why no one gives a shit about quality pc exclusives anymore. Enjoy your trash and hackers dumb fucks cause you have only yourselves to blame
Joseph Barnes
Cute strawman.
Grayson Ward
I'm sick of indie games
Jordan Nguyen
why did u copy pasta my thread bro thats not very nice
Cooper Campbell
>store.steampowered.com/app/790360/WarriOrb/ game looks boring as fuck. Literally would rather kill myself before playing this garbage. That being said if these fucking retards would have wanted to cash in on that they should have made it for the switch instead. They buy stuff like that like there is no tomorrow
Newsflash, market is oversaturated with indie games. Why should people buy yours and not any of ther 9000 others? What makes yours stand out?
Isaac Ortiz
Looks really generic and unappealing. Should've just hired some hobo outside to say that it looks bad if they can't see it themselves.
Carson Butler
isn't getting a switch sdk a pain in the ass as an indie developer? probably need an "indie publisher" who has a deal with nintendo and they'll just eat your profit anyway lol
Josiah Hill
maybe sell your game better >key features: >pretentious story >you can move >you can jump >there's puzzles >you can talk to npcs
I don't normally buy games, but I bought this one because it panders to me. If more games had cute and funny girls I would also buy their games. Any game with gay or minority characters does not get my money. Simple as.
Isaiah Stewart
The game seems very generic and uninspired. I almost exclusively play no-name indie games, and this game does not interest me in the slightest. There are plenty of worthwhile games made by small indie devs, but WarriOrb isn't one of them. The name alone is enough to tell you this.
Luis Gutierrez
I use the wishlist to keep track of the games I might want to buy if/when they go on a deep enough discount. Wishlist doesn't mean I'm going to buy the second it is released.
Matthew Reyes
Recommend me some no-name indie roguelites
Jason Stewart
since when did wish list means full price sales? i only wishlist shit that i dont want to buy on launch then check every sale to see if i can get it for stupid cheap
Ian Phillips
The game looks alright, but it’s just not my sort of game. There are a lot of games it’s competing with.
Charles Wright
This. I mean, I have fucking Morrowind on my wishlist Still not sure if I'm comfortable giving Bethesda money or not
Brody Bell
Are you really trying to bring in Timmy and Epic here when that store is filled with trash as well?
Cameron White
Of course Steam is a garbage dump, how could anybody deny this? At least these guys got redpilled on how useless Steam's metrics are for expected sales but I don't get why they act surprised that Steam has basically stopped bothering to curate and promote shit that doesn't bring in big bucks. Where have they been for the last decade?
Christopher Robinson
Hello Tim Your store is still shit
Jacob Fisher
?
Julian Bennett
Nobody wants your sidescroller indie game. It isn't 2011 anymore.
Robert Cook
You want a real shit store filled with complete trash? Look at the Switch's E-shop, that shit is absolutely littered with high-price garbage. You can't even filter it and clean it up like you can steam.
Andrew Howard
>GAME DEV CALMLY EXPLAINS HOW HIS GAME SOLD BADLY, AND WHY HE SHOULD HAVE LOWERED HIS EXPECTATIONS meanwhile on Zig Forums >OMG FUCKING ENTITLED GAME DEV STOP BLAMING GAMERS, STOP BLAMING US!! MAKE A MORE INTERESTING GAME, YOUR GAME LOOKS LIKE SHIT
ummm where does the dev act like a onions infused indie dev crying over gamers? oh he doesnt and Zig Forums just wants a new phill fish/tortanic
Austin Thomas
That's on autosage
Austin James
I might just have to check it out after all.
Aiden Bailey
More like they got scammed by a marketing firm that used bots to bloat the meteics.
Jaxon Scott
I'm pretty sure that's the only use almost anyone actually has for it. Which makes it all the more suspect that the dev doesn't know this and expects full price sales out of that 16k.
Justin Stewart
>You can't even filter it and clean it up like you can steam. Please tell me how the fuck to do this.
Wyatt Long
Yeah i do feel a bit for them about that. Their shit game was never going to sell, but they seem to have been scammed by some PR firm on top of that.
Blake Howard
What the fuck are you even talking about
Landon Cruz
>low expectations would be 10% >wahh why does dev expect the 16k
Joseph Scott
So you're saying we should make this shitty thread a general?
Logan Murphy
Steam is too fucking full I saw the same problem real time on ps4 too. first two years a haven for indie games, good visibility and good sale numbers, then the floodgates opened and the store got absolutely flooded with indie games, result no more visibility and no more sales.
Same why switch scored so well with indies in the first few years.
If any indie devs are reading this, always try to release your game within the first year of a new console launching, it helps a lot.
Christian Fisher
I dunno man, ask OP why he made a new one
Carter Edwards
read the other thread
Lincoln Phillips
>in his haste to sound smert, he misses "out of" Dumb user putting those online classes to good use.
Isaac Clark
You are shitposting but a lot of people actually have this weird "If a company makes a video game you are forced to buy it or you are entitled" mentality.
Liam Kelly
>Steam is too fucking full meme If your game is good you'll sell it on steam too. Most of the games aren't.
Thomas Wood
I've never used Epic's shit except to get UE4
Chase Young
I did, I was there from the beggining. The thing you greentexted about didn't happen, don't be that guy.
Aiden Campbell
emotional non argument, steam has been proven to have severe issues with new release visibility.
normal games get flooded into the backpages by horny hentai games and other such trite
Jose Sullivan
>dude hires some chink marketing firm that pleases the client by bot-farming downloading the demo and putting the game in wishlist >surprised when no one actually buys the game
The entire last thread was us calling the game shit and laughing at the dev though
Landon Richardson
what does this even mean? I go to university but okay. Yeh I didnt put out of, because that made even less sense, because he did get some of the wish list sales, about 164. But he expected 1 tenth of the wish list, which is really small so what is your point
Luke Foster
Yep it’s hilarious seeing these people be outraged over entitlement meanwhile they themselves feel entitled to pirate games.
Low iq hypocrites.
Connor Sullivan
So? Why aren't those other games allowed to compete with you?
Wyatt Collins
A shitty red orb isnt exactly an appealing character design.
Jayden Allen
why are you lying on the internet
Christian Hughes
Drive through any shitty neighborhood and you'll probably see quite a few nice cars in the drives, maybe a boat or two as well. When you spend all your money on one big ticket item, there's often not much left for anything else. That's why PC 'master race' types pirate everything.
Easton Barnes
Why the fuck do you think you are entitled to release visibility anyway? That's not Steam's job.
Josiah Clark
Make something appealing then and stop making the same SHIT like everyone else then warriorb nigger
Jackson Campbell
>as games like this get buried. Because it is garbage.
Chase Price
Just because the word wish is in wishlist doesn't mean people actually wish to get your game.
Why don't these indie cunts get this?
Bentley Bell
>buying a game is the same as buying a boat
Xavier Murphy
that's drug dealers user
Nathan Richardson
And indie devs bitched and moaned when Steam made it harder to get on Steam >Stop the floodgates, don't let any old shit on Steam >Wtf, my shitty game cant get on Steam??!!
Leo Sullivan
So the solution is to call it a memory list instead Or a notepad
Another redpill. Whenever you have to deal with another firm just think "what kind of person would work here" and "what can I realistically do if they screw me over".
Grayson Long
LMAO Why would anyone make an appealing pc game when pc players will just pirate it
