You have to start with the entire game in mind. If you add random shit ideas you have halfway through you're going to have a tangled knot of garbage by the end. If you really can't control yourself then you should go back after you finish your first build and rewrite the whole fucking thing now that you know what you want.
But you see, if I'm inexperienced and don't have much familiriaty with the engine how can I know the most optimal way to structure a full project?

Scott Cawthon got fucking lucky by doing a 180° by hearing criticisms and hit the jackpot
user, if you want to make an indie game you need to make your game recognizable either by it design, gameplay or theme and your best chance of publicity is via chinese whispers
if you want to be big one day, you will need to know people who will willing spreads your game and make a fucking good one, don't spread your little projects if they're too short, focus on getting good then make it

Wrong. If you pander directly to these demographics then your game is doomed to fail. You must pander to the legions who say they support those groups but actually only have a surface knowledge of them. If you dug deep and actually made a game specifically for gays, trannies or blacks then the "allies" would get uncomfortable and confused.

Have resigned myself to the fact that I'm a terrible designer and can't think of any mechanics that are enjoyable to just fuck around with (was trying a boating game, then a mech game)..so I'm just sticking with boring, simple systems and just throwing a fuck ton of them together to see if it makes something fun
